Re: Touring SPuD shoes for minimal waddle

I find the Muddy Fox ones from Sports Direct are good.

Look and feel like trainers too

Re: myklops cycle mirror

Thanks Mark

I am glad to hear you have redesigned the strap.

The main problem I found with the old one - was adjusting the strap on the fly - for changes of clothing during sudden downpours.

I find an elasticated solution solves this problem and also means that (if folded) I don't have to remove it from my wrist, when changing from a jersey to a waterproof jacket.

Re: MTB Size

Sounds like you are like me - between the M and the L in most manufactures sizes

Both my bikes are M (18") running long stems (90mm on the Decade) (110mm on the GT Avalanche)

I could have got away with a L on the GT with a shorter stem, because my size/ape index is so borderline

Best thing to do is to try one on for size.

Re: myklops cycle mirror

Agree with the price being a bit steep

With the elasticated strap I use with mine - I get no slippage, no matter what I have under the strap.

They really need to rethink the strap.

Re: Bikestand for Keeping Bike in The Lounge

Not sure about stands but I use one like the "

MOTTEZ SA SINGLE BIKE CEILING BIKE LIFT"
Decathlon have them for 13.99

Although mine is above the stairs, not the living room

Reminds me of the "safety" washers (or whatever they are called) that you see on the front wheels of a BMX bikes.

Not sure of the length on the tabs on those would they suit ?

Re: myklops cycle mirror

Yes I have one and I am quite happy with it

My only gripe would be the strap, which was a bit of a faff to fit

I've since replaced it with an elasticated strap

Re: Suspension forks on trekking/city bikes

Suspension forks add extra weight and don't offer any extra comfort unless the ground is very bumpy

Agreed but not always true.

The SIDs on my single speed weigh less than most comparable forks (even CF ones) and do an excellent job of soaking up the little bumps I encounter - on my commute.

Not sure what "city" roads are like, but on the potholes and poorly surfaced paths and roads here in South Wales - it certainly is a benefit

Re: FOX 32 remote lockout help

Go here

http://www.ridefox.com/upgrades.php?m=bike

Enter the code on your forks and see what is available

I believe you need the FIT CTD Remote upgrade - if your fork is compatible

Not sure - It would greatly depend on what frame it is.

Are you planning a Single Speed / Fixed conversion ?

Re: Top Tube bags

Have a look at the Rosewheel ones on eBay too

I have had two of the types that hold your mobile. I only bought the second one when I changed from an Iphone 5 to a 6 which then didn't fit

Alternativey, to carry sonething so small as a camera, you may also want to look at the Front Tube Frame Triangle Pouch Bag Saddle Panniers

Re: Is this spec any good for 1st MTB for 14 year old

Have a look at some reviews, but at that price it looks OK

I wouldn't have paid the full £500+ for it though
