SOLD VAN NICHOLAS YUKON 54
VERY reluctant sale of my prime steed but damned medical condition means my long distance riding is all but over. I would like this beautiful and well looked after VN to be bought by someone who would ride it for Audax or whatever, and take care of it. Gears, brakes work perfectly and both wheel sets are as smooth as butter.I bought the 105 shifters from Spa a couple of years ago, same with VN forks ( wanted a longer steerer) from VN in Netherlands for £200.
The bike rides beautifully and tirelessly over long distances.

Re: AIRNIMAL CHAMELEON+TRAILER
The oversize rule for weight is pretty standard (32kg) dimensions varys with airlines. Most airlines will accept these dimensions as oversize but not so big as to be classed as freight.

Re: Tain-JOG
At Inverness rather than go to Beauly on south side of Beauly Firth I would go over the Keswick Bridge, down to North Keswick and follow the very pleasant minor road that hugs the north shore of Beauly Firth. When you come up to the junction with A832 turn left to Muir of Ord. Right here on A 862 to Dingwall. At Dingwall take the Old Evanton Road to Evanton and then the Scotsburn Road to Tain. If you are in no hurry, go to JoG via Lairg and B871 to Bettyhill. Otherwise, via A9, it’s less problematic than your average B road in southern England:)

Scot Rail potential strike
Just to give LEJOG AND JOGLE cyclists the heads up. There is a strong possibility that there will be strikes coming up. Won’t affect those returning from Inverness south or north on LNER but will if you transfer at Edinburgh or Glasgow north on Scotrail/Abellio trains and of course those trains to and from Inverness-Wick. Suggest you keep a weather eye and consider alternatives if you plan to do LEJOG/JOGLE from September.

Re: JOGLE 21 Logistics Questions
Wouldn’t bother with a tent, bivi bag only for single night stays at any one place (+ midge head net). Spare shoes- don’t bother with space and weight, just have SPD pedals and recessed cleats, you can walk anywhere. Just take some spare bolts.

Re: JOGLE 21 Logistics Questions
You could get a train to London, coach to Inverness and then the train to Wick. Would be cheaper than train all the way from Dorset. OR hire a van to Inverness then train to Wick. Even a two day hire would be cheaper than your train ticket from Dorset

Re: Assistance offered!!
Ditto, support and spares willing to travel from Moray up to Aviemore (cyclists coming up via Perth or over from Braemar to Tomintoul)and all points NW to Inverness and Beauly. All I ask is a little to cover petrol.

Reduced Rail Service Inverness
Just a heads up in case anyone is planning an early 2021 Legog, ScotRail has reduced services on all Highlands lines. On the Highland Main Line, the 09:44, 15:56 and 17:41 services between Inverness and Edinburgh will be withdrawn, meanwhile, the 05:36 from Inverness to Edinburgh which will terminate at Perth Monday to Friday. This may change as vaccines come on stream, lockdown eases and rail demand increases. Watch this space and check BBC Scotland the Press and Journal Newspaper.

Well done, hope rest of Lejog goes well. Hope you have got accommodation booked up here, big demand with campsites, hotels and BB fully open as of today.
