On the occasion that I am out driving, I find motorists mostly dawdle and not let faster people pass. I think the motorists should sort out their problems before they can start on the ones of cyclists.

Re: Clarification on swearing
Sounds fair enough. I would assume anything like that followed by "off" would be looked down upon. Was wondering with regards to casual stuff.

There are many folk who come on trying to get round all this. People who have a "spam intention". They get short shrift I can assure you!
How can you get round something thats set in stone? The first post needs approval, there no getting round that. Are you saying people are trying to glitch or hack the forum?

Clarification on swearing
viewtopic.php?f=15&t=10801
It says here that you cannot alter the spelling in anyway, but you can use loads of *s. If "hell" was a swear word you could say "the weather is hot as ****. But what if I said "the weather is hot a.h". Or more commonly, "WTH"? Is there any issue in using acronyms or abbreviations if the word itself isn't shown?
What about replacing the entire word completely for an alternative word. Say in this example I replaced "hell" with a moon of Uranus. "The weather is hot as Puck!?" Or "that driver was a complete Oberon"!

those countries?
This was a terrible occurrence, but cyclists have been exploring far away places for well over a century and are unlikely to stop because of this. Every time I ride in a new country I am aware of the risks, but I suspect that more cyclists are killed on the road in UK than in Tajikistan.
Not by terrorists tho. And there are a heck of a lot more cyclists here than in remote Tajikistan countryside. Obviously every country has its own risks, but terrorism and war related risks are higher in certain parts of the world. I'd personally not even consider such destinations.

Why do they bother with Harribos (or any other sweets for that matter)? What the heck is all that about?

New Horizons cost about, well a lot.Google and Alexa says about $700 million. Dont know what that is in UK money but lets see how cheep it is to cycle to Pluto. Pluto's distance actually varies by the same distance that Uranus orbits. This itself is over a billion miles so lets ignore it. When NH flew by Pluto in 2015, Pluto was roughly 3.1 billion miles from earth.
So what is the cost of getting New Horizons to Pluto? 700 million divided by 3 point one billion is = I dont know exactly. But its about 22 cents per mile using current tech. Current tech involves hugely expensive and powerful rockets. These involve fire, flame and threats from Donald Trump. Can you imagine how cheap it would be if you just sent a bike there instead?
They already got a balloon to Saturn's largests moon, and they did that by killing less than ten polar penguins. TEN!

It can be a bit surprising when it happens, I had it about 30 years ago setting off from traffic lights - never did work out what the cause was. At that time I don't think any brand had qr stays as standard.
They are rubbish if they are the type I am thinkin of. Just little plastic plug type things. Tiny ones. I bumped one of the front mudguard stays with my foot once, and that was enough to pop the little plug things out. This left my mudgard just hanging there, and the safety plug lost. I scrounged a couple of cable ties at work and rode back home no problems. The mudguard has been nice and secure ever since.

One Man and His Bike. Its about a bloke's bike ride round the coast of the UK. I found it very interesting. Its also one of the few cycling related things that I read that is actually any good. Magazines are full of stuff very similar to what I see in the bowls of public toilets.

Who gets to decide what a good reason is?
The government. They are in charge of ruining the country after all.

Now, everyone knows them, and the minute there is an indication of a slow up, mapping systems start recommending alternatives, many of which are not fit for significant levels of traffic, even if they are fine for a single vehicle, or even a few.
Spot on. I have previously mentioned the frequency of commercial vehicles on certain back roads. All of them following a 'common' algorithm sourced path to tie in all the random collection and pick up points in the local area

Would you watch a cycle race where they zoomed in on the bottom bracket, or front wheel hub, of the 1st guy crossing the finish line of the TDF? I mean c'mon!
