Just make sure it's not with Thomas Cook

Re: Tyre recommendations again

LBS carry very little, but online there is still a plethora to be had. Schwalbe has a good range. I have Marathons, but they might be a little heavy for you

Re: An Intellectuals View on Camping

Semi interesting article. Camping, like a almost anything is subjective. From having a blanket and sleeping in the open in the woods to a 150k camper with microwave and hot tub. For me, camping means being far from other people (company excluded) I don't want to see another tent, camper or Off road ...

Re: Booking trains in Italy

Does anyone have any advice or experience on booking trains in Italy? Specifically Pisa to Lucca, Lucca to Florence, Florence to Siena, Siena to Pisa I've been on trainline and it looks pretty straight forward and cheap - do I need to book in advance or can I just turn up? Tickets are usually not a...

Re: DSLR Compact Camera or Phone? Belgium c50km/day

I have too many cameras, but I had to have one for bike touring. I wanted a decent sized sensor (1"), very compact and USB chargeable. Ended up with the Canon G9X MK II. It has wifi, so can transfer images to my smart phone/tablet, image quality is quite good, it has RAW as well as all the manu...

Would have thought a German company their customer service would be excellent.

Germany: Good for quality, not so good customer service

Re: Cateye computer question

You need to provide the model of you computer.

If it is very basic, it is doubtful it has that option

This race impressed the heck out of me.
I average about 900 m of climbing when I go out on my Emtb, these guys do a lot more than that.

Re: What is the Most Popular Touring Bike in the World?

Sorry, but I think this is a really irrelevant question. I just don't get the point. The real answer probably has nothing to do with quality of the bike but more with distribution, availability etc. Along that line, when Decathlon comes out with their touring bike, it probably will be the highest s...

Those are some high end bikes. Perhaps going to a more specialized forum like MTBR would get you more results.

Re: Deore vs Deore LX

I purchased a set with Deore and was quite happy with them (still am). With my next set I was in the same quandary and could not decide. In the end, I spent the extra money and went with XT, just to make the choice easier (touring use)

Re: Brooks saddle, a newbie question.

I fitted my new Brooks saddle, the one with the black rivets mentioned elsewhere here, and two things surprised me. First, it was comfortable, I had expected a longish breaking in period though my test ride was only twenty miles. And secondly it was very slippery. I have tilted the nose up slightly...
