I followed the advice given in earlier threads and went to Liz at beaumontbicycle.com who has now fitted me up with a step through. I appear on her website w...

Re: Three-quarter-length trousers

Not really SJS. In fact I use them for yoga as well and I like the way they come well up to the waist.

Re: Three-quarter-length trousers

I have had nothing but Corinne Dennis for the last 15 years or so. Very comfortable and a good quality Lycra / cotton. No grippers thank goodness.

Re: Difficulty in fitting tyre back on rim

Many thanks to everyone who sent advice on how to refit bicycle tyres. I am now the happy possessor of a VAR which works beautifully.

Difficulty in fitting tyre back on rim

I am now (at the age of 87 next week) finding it difficult to refit the tyre on the rim by hand. I am looking for help when on tour to refit tyres after a puncture. Any ideas??

Wallander country

As a fan of Henning Mankell and of the current series starring Ken Branagh I was really taken with the cycling possibilities of southern Sweden. Any tips on how to get there from Edinburgh? Could we perhaps do it via Denmark? Does the ferry still run from Tynemouth? I think HF used to do combined De...

I booked all our tickets in June using the excellent Natonal Express website and had a full pack of tickets by return of post - passenger ticket, seat ticket, bike ticket for edinburgh...

4 of us did it last September from Barra up to Stornoway. We used Harry Henniker's excellent 101 bike routes in Scotland. Full of other good things too. There isn't really a great choice of road on the islands and you have to fit in with available ferries. We took the train from Edinburgh to Oban, s...
