Re: How can I use this space?

I'm off to Burma shortly and will carry one, at most two. Cut the number of tubes and it avoids the need for the bag at all. Job done. So how will you go on with one or two tubes? Depending on the type of puncture you may be out of luck with puncture repair patches, so what will you do if you are a...

Re: How can I use this space?

Alpkit will also make you a custom bag for that space as detailed in this thread from the Thorn Cycles forum http://thorncyclesforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=11832.msg86398#msg86398 Many thanks for that. I looked at the thorn forum and that bag looks amazing. I am very tempted to make a template and s...

Re: How can I use this space?

I used that space on my MTB for a first aid kit. It was packed in a small wedge shaped saddle bag, effectively upside down, strapped to the seat tube with the seat tube strap and to the stays with the velcro overlap strap that would have fitted it to the saddle rails. Thanks for your suggestion. I ...

Re: How can I use this space?

something like this sleeve looks like it may fit, plus it already has webbing down the side which I could utilise to strap it on. It also has a draw string top. Looks perfect for cramming some spare tubes in: http://i68.tinypic.com/1zdta41.jpg http://www.neoprene-material.com/sale-7743392-black-neop...

How can I use this space?

I will shortly be embarking on a long distance tour and am trying to maximise every bit of space I can on the bike. This has left me thinking about the area I have highlighted in red. There is actually quite a bit of space there, even with mudguards now fitted. I don't want to put a pump there, and ...

Re: Diameter Adjustable bottle cages - what options are there?

Thanks for all the suggestions. Out of interest what do people think is the better product - The Monkii or Bikebuddy? Can both be used on the underside of the frame to hold the bottle securely? I am really coming round to the type of system used on the bikebuddy and Monki - is there anything else on...

Diameter Adjustable bottle cages - what options are there?

I am looking for a diameter adjustable bottle cage, mainly to accommodate a few retro flasks that I have. All these flasks tend to be a lot slimmer than standard bottle sizes. Although I would like something that can adapt to take a normal size bottle as well. I particularly like the below designs, ...

Any reason why you would prefer a pole pocket?

Re: The Dreaded Flag - Where to buy...

I just came across this thread, as I am looking to get a flag. I did contact raindrop kites, as other posters had done years ago, but they are no longer doing custom work. So I was thinking of using these people and uploading my own artwork: https://www.bannerbuzz.co.uk/triangle-flags I note that th...

what is the purpose of these holes?

Does anyone know why some bikes have holes in the plate where I have circled in red? These holes are both sides - Why not just have a solid plate? What is the purpose of these holes? I thought maybe another axle mount position, but in this case it is designed for a Rohloff and there can be no other ...

Re: Hydraulic Shifting for Rohloff etc?

I hardly dare ask but how did it work out? It worked out really well, and in my opinion is a vast improvement on the cable shifter. I was using it for most of the year and it never let me down once. Changes are a real breeze, where everything is ultra smooth. The only reason I am selling is because...

Does anyone make a rack like this in steel?

I am looking at the racktime Foldit adjustable: https://www.racktime.com/en/racktime-products/system-carriers/racktime-product/foldit-adjustable/ I like it as all the support structs are bolted on and not welded. I want something like this for a DIY project, but preferably in steel. Does anyone make...
