Re: PCL Digital Tyre Pressure Guage
Hi Guys, as well as posting within this forum I also emailed PCL, within a few hours I received a reply which confirmed that there should be a rubber sealing ring where you place the device on the valve to check your tyre pressure.

PCL Digital Tyre Pressure Guage
Hi, my son recently gave my a PCL digital tyre pressure guage
I ask because the first time I tried to use it on the schrader valves on my MTB it wouldn’t seal to read the pressure and would have completely deflated the tyre.
Should there be a rubber sealing ring in the mouth that you insert over the valve?
Thanks for any help or advice
as in this picture, does any other member own and use one?I ask because the first time I tried to use it on the schrader valves on my MTB it wouldn’t seal to read the pressure and would have completely deflated the tyre.

Re: Help Repair Creaking Push Fit Bottom Bearing
Well my head is spinning all over a creaking BB.
I have been watching numerous You tube videos about creaking BB's and how to permanently repair them however first problem is to identify the BB your bike came with?
Now I don't own any of the special tools to remove parts to access my BB to check for any Make or part numbers so I use Google where I search Cube AMS 130 pro spec for years 2010, 2011,2012 also the picture images for identical colour to my MTB.
So far the search has found in The Bike List reviews and spec the following bottom bearings fitted to the Cube.
Hope Press Fitt BB.
Shimano SM-BB91-41A.
Shimano Innenlarger Press fit SM-BB91-41A.
and just Press Fit BB.
The You tube videos mention upgrades to solve this problem with products such as BB Infinite or Praxis but to consider ordering an upgrade you first need to know what BB you have

Help Repair Creaking Push Fit Bottom Bearing
Hi, Looking for some help or advice regarding a problem on my mtb.
The bottom bracket on my 2011 /2012 aluminium frame Cube AMS 130 Pro has started creaking.
I believe its replacement is a press fit Shimano SM- BB91-41A .
However I'm lead to believe that the problem is the bearing outer shell is loose where it enters the frame.
I Googled this problem which resulted in many posts from various cycling forums first saying this was a common problem with push fit bearings, would you agree?
That being the case how does one solve this problem?
Several methods of repair are suggested such as, use a suitable Loctite solution to fix the bearing housing in the frame or use thin metal strips possibly a Coke can to take up any play?
Anyone had a similar problem, how did you sort it?
Cheers Mick

Cycling Holidays on Borrowed Cycle
I continually read in my copies of Cycle Magazine various cycling holidays been advertised and wonder, do you take and use your own cycle or does the holiday company provide you with a cycle?
I would love to hear from any members who have used one of these companies where THEY provided a cycle as to how successful that was?
Was the cycle size correct and suitable?
Depending on the length of the holiday and the distance to ride was there any 'comfort' issues relating to say the saddle?

Brightest Rear Light for Daytime Use
I'm interested to hear what fellow members consider to be the brightest rear lights for daytime riding?
The other day I was in my car and noticed two cyclists quite a distance ahead who both had very bright identical flash patten rear lights, unfortunately they took another route before I could reach them to ask what make / model their lights were.

Re: Handlebar Tape
Hi Foxyrider, you must have read my mind as I was just about to ask, " What is the difference between ATB and road bike gloves?" I visited Chain Reaction to view men's road bike gloves and they look no difference?
I'm currently in Spain and at this time of the year the evenings, nights and morning are very cold, I don't feel the need to wear thicker padded gloves.
When riding I try and hold the bars on the tops as wide as possible for maximum control and move to the area above the hoods for braking and gear changing so to spread and tape wear.
I own and ride two bikes both Cubes in addition to the Agree I also have an AMS 130 Pro.

Re: Handlebar Tape
Guy's the worn tape in the photo I believe was Fizik, so over two years and 3,500 miles I'm on the third the Lizard Skin fitted today, shall see how this goes.
The gloves are to keep my hands a bit warmer during the winter rides.
Interesting comment about been put on backwards then the next reader disagreeing, my local bike shop fitted the last two tapes and obviously Cube the original.
I replaced the Cube tape because several of the 'coils' moved exposing the black bars, the Fizik tape as can be seen in the picture was replace having worn through to the white under tape.
I though about fitting the tape myself but after watching numerous Utube videos I was left confused has as many showed starting at the bar ends as did starting at the bar top????

Re: Handlebar Tape
The bike being a Cube Agree C:62 SL so original tape was obviously Cube. I then replaced that with Fizik and now to the Lizard Skin, I bought the bike February 2017 which has now been ridden just over 3,500 miles, the gloves I wear are Cube which have a leather cloth palm

Handlebar Tape
Have just replaced 'again' my bar tape for Lizard Skin and have one question, does wearing gloves cause the wear shown in my Before & After pictures?

Dismount on Cycle Path
Photo of the month in Dec 2018/ Jan2019 issue of the 'Cycle' magazine shows on Route 51 a sign saying Cyclist please walk with text suggesting this could be a joke for foreign visitors?
Route 55 passes through the centre and along side the river Sow of Stafford my home town where signs suggesting cyclists dismount presumably for the low river bridges? See attached picture.

Re: Strava
Hi PH, so are you saying that if one of my following shows a ride of 56 miles on MY dashboard and that person uses kilometers he's really done 56k?
