Re: 20” wheeled e bike

I'm not sure I've really understood your need for a small wheeled e-bike, but just based on the fact that's what you're looking at: Orbea Katu-E might be worth a look, I had a test ride on one last year and it was fun https://ebiketips.road.cc/content/reviews/electric-cargo-bikes/orbea-katu-e-1922 ...

Re: What fat-tyred, folding, E-bikes (Not Chinese)

I currently have a 10 month old Brompton Electric 6speed folder (H6R) and find it first class. Unfortunately I tripped over a month ago and fractured my elbow as well as damaging my shoulder. Similar to the OP I’m thinking of getting something with “bungier” tyres and am looking at the Tern Vektron ...

Re: Garmin Varia RTL510 light/radar

I said on a previous post that I'd sold my Radar as I'd given up road cycling. Well I really missed my trips out so I've treated myself to a Brompton Electric as I have one new knee and the other one has a displaced patella and requires "something to be done" but probably next year after C...

Re: Garmin Varia RTL510 light/radar

I had one of these but sold it as I gave up road cycling due to underlying health issues. I found the unit exceptional... the only thing I should mention if a car comes up behind you, you'll get the warning... however when he comes up behind you and then matches your speed there's no "little do...

Re: New style Brompton Sturmey Shiftet

I must be lucky... my new style shifters work perfectly. I had an H6R for approx 18months.. no problems at all... new style shifters 100%. I then had an H6R Electric... shifters worked perfectly as well. It was returned to Brompton for a full refund as the electronics were rubbish.. motor kept cutti...

Re: Helmet with visor.

I bought the Abus Hyban and find it excellent. My glasses are fairly large but the visor is down it doesn’t catch. I have used it in 4 degrees C and it has kept the cold draught off my eyes so no “runny eye” problems at all.

Re: Brompton Electric. Game changer?

It would be great for any members who have had electric conversions posted how successful the different conversions have been. I bought an actual electric Brompton which had to go back to the factory for, allegedly, a new motor and controller as the power kept switching on and off going uphill. It w...

Re: bike feedback wanted.

If you live in Worcestershire I suggest you go to the factory. They are very helpful and there’s no high pressure selling.... more importantly... they have a large test track with slopes and hills to try the different models. I think they still do the 30 day approval so you can return it if it’s not...

Re: Any advice on buying an E-assist folding bike ?

if You are a lottery winner I suggest a Brompton e-bike! Ok they are front hub powered but don’t worry about punctures - opt for Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres which have, I think, a 7mm band below the tread to help you to avoid punctures. I’m 67 and hadn’t cycled for over 45 years and before a knee r...

Re: Rear View Camera + screen

Has anyone made any progress on this? I've not managed to find a rearview camera and monitor despite a lot of searching online. I'd really like to try this set up because I have my right eye patched so I can't easily turn to see what's behind me. I looked at the radar option and thought it was a gr...
