Re: Genesis Longitude sizing

I'm 5'11" and I have a large 2015 Longitude but it has a short stem and butterflies which brings the grips back to the stem cap. It's the comfiest bike I've ever had. This is me on it.

US laws

The pro-motorist/anti cycling laws are even worse in the US than here.
The guy was nearly killed and she got away with no charge as it was an 'accident'.

Bad News : implied blame in news reporting

Why is it, in news reports, a pedestrian is always hit by a car and never a motorist but if it’s a bike, it’s always a cyclist and never a bike?

Re: Computers

I always take my computer off when I lock the bike up outside, so it can be on and off several times a day. That's why I need a durable mount.

Computers

I've had several basic bike computers over the years but the the common fault with all of them, like a lot of battery lights, was failure of the mount. Then I got a VDO with a twist on/off mount; best mount ever. Unfortunately, the same can't be said of the actual units themselves. The first one's b...

Re: Rear Deralleur and 42 tooth sprocket

I was out on the bike today and tried bottom gear. The longer allen bolt is working and it'll do till I get a better solution. Thanks for your input.

No, Brucey, it's the exact same. It was a link too long but I shortened it to match the old one.

Rear Deralleur and 42 tooth sprocket

I have an 11-42 cassette with a Shimano SLX Shadow+ long cage derailleur. Recently, when I selected bottom gear (it's 24-34 at the front), there was a horrible grating sound. It's not a gear I use very often but I do use it and it was OK before (I changed the chain?). That's maybe why I've just noti...

Re: Is Cycling Abnormal?

According to the Collins English Dictionary: "Someone or something that is abnormal is unusual, especially in a way that is worrying."
I'm definitely part of the traffic even though Sustrans talk about 'traffic free paths'.

Is Cycling Abnormal?

There was a closed road bike event in Glasgow city centre at the weekend. I didn't attend. The local evening newspaper, the Evening Times, reported that "the roads were closed off to normal traffic." Does this make cycling abnormal?

Re: Topeak Pocket Rocket

NUKe, I'd prefer a push on pump as I've had recent trouble with unscrewing valve cores.
