1) Religion....the sooner mankind wakes up and bans/stamps-it-out/outlaws it the sooner mankind can make a much better/equal/safer world for everyone.
2) Judgemental people....especially those that look down upon those with little/no-wealth/unemployed, drink/drug/mental health issues, the homeless, those with tattoos/body-art, those with little/no education and others that don't come to mind at the moment.
There are some on here that have been guilty of this. It's as if they're looking down their noses at what they see as "riff-raff" or a burden on soceity and aren't worthy of breathing the same fresh air as themselves.
3) Poetry....what an utter useless waste of words. I'd rather be illiterate/deaf than have to read/listen to that garbage.

Re: Should a surgeon be allowed to "tattoo" his patients?
Yes.
I'd be honoured for him/her to sign their handiwork. Considering they'd have just either saved/prolonged my life then it's the least thing i'd be worried about. Surgeons are one of those few groups of people at the top of my respect tree.
On the other end of the scale i wouldn't deem a politician worthy of signing my budgerigars litter sheet

Re: Websites are spying on you in new ways:Session Replay Scripts
I use the NoScript addon with Firefox along with AdBlock Plus...it takes a little bit of getting used to but it is simply awesome...it's scary to see what lurks on "some" web-pages (some nerdy sites don't have any nasties)...this plugin/addon is totally configurable but makes visiting your favorite website a pleasure once again (quicker loading)
Ebay "loads" faster once all the ad's and crap are blocked/turned off
The NoScript homepage has various types of help to setup/fine-tune the plugin i.e video's/forum etc.

Also available (Geoblock free) on https://www.guerillacricket.com/ for those that are Geoblocked (outside of the U.K.) by the BBC.
Not a good start (as per usual) by England .... 26-1

Wife no.2 hated cyclists and anything associated with cycling....she went so far as giving me an ultimatum; "it's me or your bikes"....shame really as the bike takes up most of my new bed

i think this old fuddy-duddy may be tempted to dust off the tandem and drag the missus to that "touring festival" as it sounds like fun (hopefully) and it's local-ish....i may even learn something whilst i'm there.

Re: How is the Local Bike Shop going to survive?
As per post title...."with difficulty" IMO..... loyalty doesn't pay the bills and money (or a bargain) talks as the old saying goes...pubs are dropping like flies apparently form some statistic i read recently; talking of reading one of my fav pastimes i.e. frequenting book shops will soon be in the same realms of the LBS...the Ereader device (Kindle....p.s. i have one) and "supermarkets" are supposedly nailing the coffin lid shut on small book shops....shame really as owning a book shop is top of my bucket list.

landsurfer wrote: the smell of alcohol on people asking for food parcels..... I KNOW HOW I FEEL !!!
Extremely HAPPY i hope .....why ? ...because your helping your fellow man AND helping someone who "may" have an illness/addiction; for this i thank you for your tireless dedication/devotion in helping a "possible" alcoholic to eat, regardless of their ethnicity, dress-sense, religious beliefs, hair-style and how their breath smells.
However if the above didn't apply to you i.e. you "felt" disgusted/saddened/wasting-your-time helping others etc. etc. then may i suggest that you take up another line of voluntary work/help; perhaps one that YOU may feel appreciated in doing/helping-out with.

do you know many tattooist's then ????
I think you'll find that your stereotypical view of tattooist's is quite far from reality ...e.g. leather jackets are quite restrictive; probably (but not always) covered in oil/detritus and certainly not conducive to a clean/hygienic studio...as for long hair, i think you'll find the majority of tattooist's are bald (this includes some women)

landsurfer wrote:Food banks are now asking questions of adults with "sleeve" tattoos on their arms asking for assistance
mmm i find that a bit harsh if that is the case....IMO a foodbank/charitable organisation shouldn't be judging those they are helping ...a person's "previous wealth" shouldn't come into it...just because they are asking for help/assistance (food in this case) doesn't mean they are lying about their income; they may have fallen on hard times and the last thing they probably need is someone looking down/judging them because they "appear" to have been wealthy/better off at some point.
As for tattoos; i have my daughters names with DOB's on my arms (non-viewable with a long sleeved shirt/arm warmers if i so choose) and i'm very proud of them... IMO it's a personal thing whether to have/wear/show them, just like wearing a helmet/headphones or having a single pannier is a choice....each to their own i suppose.

cycleruk wrote:There are also other videos on the same website but this one looked at a broad "church" of various cyclists.
The video usually has to be on YouTube (but not always) as some "downloaders" don't recognize some sites...the one i used YTD (it's free and i've used it for several years...google is your friend) but it would NOT let me download it from The Community Channel...but upon 1st watching said video i noticed that it was playing via YouTube, so i stopped it, copied the title of the video; made a note of it's length and then went straight to YouTube and used the search box...as soon as i saw it (same title-same length) i clicked on it to start it; copied the url at the top and pasted that into YTD and et voila i now have my own copy....using the same method as mentioned should get you any of the video's posted on there...again some other sites are recognized by YTD whilst some aren't....it was how i acquired a small library of videos containing things that interest me i.e. SDR, Photoshop, Reliant Kitten, hiking and of course cycling stuff.
I too liked the OP video has it touched on various cyclists...shame it was only 24 mins long.
