Re: Heathrow Info- coming from abroad for British tour

Here you are, all the info you need. (Google is your friend!) Avoid an airline coming into terminals 1, 2 or 3, because the cyclist/pedestrian tunnel is closed. Looks like terminal 4 or 5 will be fine. https://www.heathrow.com/transport-and-directions/cycling If you cant avoid terminals 1 2 or 3 yo...

Re: School trying to make helmets compulsory

Pre 1973 I used to ride a motorcycle without a helmet, today I don't wear a helmet on a bicycle. I can't see how it'll protect whats encased in your cranium if you smack it into the road, or any solid object.

Re: Goodbye then .. Chris Froome

. After all the attitude of a lot of Joe Public's who take recreational drugs is why aren't they legal. Fine by me, just don't try saving them when they overdose. But if recreational drugs were legal they'd be regulated and taxed,so the chances of overdose would be reduced, and they'd be cleaner. If...

Re: Goodbye then .. Chris Froome

Does this really matter at all? Why not legalise all performance-enhancing drugs? If they all use them, it's a level playing field without the need to hide, and we wouldn't need all the endless testing. Just let them do it. It's not as if they are normal people anyway. Just let them get on with it....

Re: How big will the lift be when the Tyne pedestrian/cycle tunnel reopens?

According to this http://www.bridgesonthetyne.co.uk/tyneped.html it'll be May this year. As an add on hours later ;) I'm looking forward to going through it after almost 40 years.

Re: Did I do something wrong?

Thanks for the responses all. I feel reassured I was doing the right thing but wanted to hear from more experienced riders - to my mind, it was a potentially dangerous situation, more so for having a couple of speedy cyclists right behind me, so I wanted to make myself as visible as possible. To be...

Re: What gear range do you use.

Is it OK to say I haven't a clue and probably don't care? (Should I revoke my forum membership?) I don't have a clue what they're talking about, its all chinese to me. I think it's just blokes liking to compare how many inches they have....  Although the topic title does ask 'what gear ...

Re: What gear range do you use.

Thank you both for showing me how to work it all out, I'll attempt to find out what mine is when I go for a ride on Friday, (on dog sitting duty until Thursday so lots of walking)

Re: Did I do something wrong?

In my eye's you've done nothing wrong, but some people think they own the road and have a different take on it. BTW was the other cyclist what I dub a lycra lout all I'm in a hurry and has a foul mouth to match? Imagine how foul it would be if he'd been left hooked 5 seconds later. I certainly am h...

Re: Self righteous cameramen

I have a camera mounted on my handlebars, I use it to record interesting bits of road or track that I'm riding, I also use it to log potholes that are dangerous, for the life of me, I can't ever see me using it to entrap someone after all we all make mistakes on the road. You can't "entrap&quo...

You can find the story here http://metro.co.uk/2018/01/22/cyclist-gets-way-ambulance-sirens-blaring-complains-near-miss-7248829/ Amazingly , when I’ve just looked, 8% think the ambulance driver was in the wrong. Good job I wasn't the ambulance driver  what an utter moron on the bike.
