Re: Bells

Nothing funny about using a loud horn 140db It could cause shock causing a fatal heart attack leading to a personslaughter charge I've just spotted this. nearly burst out laughing. The word you are looking for is Manslaughter. You're made up word is nonsense. As is your assumption that you could be...

Re: Bells

I have an awesome Crane brass bell and use it.
I'm always amazed at the folk that take umbrage to me pinging at them, as if I'm throwing a stone at the back of their heed to move them out the way.

People are stupid, and seem to be on the offensive all the time these days.

Re: Ordering from Rose in new year?

Hope you're not planning to buy a bike !

They have some stupid crappy excuse for not sending to the UK on their website, but it smacks of a eurofuqu.

Re: Minimum distance for wearing Lycra on a commute ?

In the UK, anything over 3 miles requires pro level kit. On the continent , normal clothes suffice for anything up to 30 miles. Define 'normal' clothes, what's normal to you isn't the same to others is it? And actually so what if others choose garments to wear that are different for similar activit...

Re: Dawes to stop making the Galaxy due to lack of demand...

If I was buying a Galaxy it would be a 20yr old version.
If companies start replacing quality goods with cheap replicas they should expect that item to have a very finite lifespan.

Re: Disagreement with AGM resolutions

I'm not a member. Let me start by stating that. if I was joining a cycling club/organisation I would expect them to promote cycling. There are other bodies that promote environmental causes and they should carry on doing so. Cycling bodies, maybe not. Promoting tourism and all the benefits it provid...

Re: Bob Jackson's shutting up

I certainly wasn't being smart. If there are that many making bikes surely they could find someone willing to train as a bike maker. ( I never suggested a fully operating frame builder would want an apprenticeship lol, that would be stupid haha) I'm not trying to slight them in any way, but I'm sure...

Re: Bob Jackson's shutting up

Given the amount of young frame builders around the UK at the moment They could not have tried very hard to recruit staff to carry the company forward.

You can't move for hipsters building steel.

Starting a sentence with "So"
Calling a drawer a "draw" is worse though. (Look on Gumtree for a chest of draws)

Re: The Book of Trespass

Always confused me this one. Up here in Scotland we have a right to access our own country and we deserve it and it works. In England you are excluded from everywhere unless someone allows it. Madness. I just wish it was clearer on where folk are allowed to ride dirt bikes. Most civilised countries ...

Re: lightweight, packable down jacket for exploring?

No chance of getting an Aplkit, they live on having no stock, ever.

I looked at loads last year for touring and bought a Superdry one at £60. It's perfect.

It knocked the crap out of my old man so I'd be surprised if it didn't have an effect.

His legs were the worst affected.
