Thanks for your reply! After checking some of the sites it appears that since Portsmouth is a cruise ship site it's a popular route. Thankfully National Express is willing to give a refund after a lengthy Messenger conversation with them yesterday. I know it is more $ than the train but it just seem...

Taxi recommendation??

On a previous post I decided to back away from National Express. So I am starting to explore taxi companies. Any suggestions? Any to avoid?
Thanks!

Re: Woodtourer's next Euro Tour

I decided to abandon the National Express idea. I had a log Messenger session and and feeling quite uncomfortable. They are going to provide a refund. I think we will just book a taxi/ minivan. I really don't want to get stuck after a long flight. The train sounded like a good idea but it does sound...

I was thinking the same thing! A generous tip and a willingness to load the boxes myself!

Re: National Express booked!!!

Last time we bagged them and it worked well. But this time we will box them as we are returning to Portsmouth and we have an Airbnb that we stayed at before storing the boxes.

Re: National Express booked!!!

Paid for extra baggage. This worked last time 2 years ago.
The hardest part was the trek through the airport to the bus area! Fortunately we will have plenty of time.

Re: mapping

We have used Cycle Travel 2x's for our European tours. Last year for 3 months. We would redo routes along the way and then download to our Garmin.
You can also print out the maps.
We will be returning to France for 6 weeks in May and Cycle Travel will be going along!
