Well we just returned from Europe a while ago and our plastic bike bag, a mattress bag, is kaput! They made it to London and we're then pack on our bikes for about 2 months and on our return flight from Copenhagen to the US they are trashed. I keep hearing about the eTrek. I see there are a number of models. Which one is a good choice for touring?

Another GPS question!!

We are currently on tour and using our Garmin 800. We bought this unit in 2013 and it has served us well for many tours. But I think that the "socket" where we attach the USB cord is beginning to wear out. I have been following some of the posts about different units. But was wondering whi...

EE Mobile!!

Just wanted to say how well the above mobile phone plan has worked for us on our tour across France, Gei and now Denmark.
I think it was recommended here earlier this year while I was in the planning stages of our trip. A few times I had some y and their Customer Service was great!

Re: New Route Planner

As we are currently touring in Germany heading to Denmark and REALLY enjoying this route planner!!
We often have opportunity to tell other touring cyclists about it but we those, who are European, bring it up on their phones they have to pay to get it. Is the something normal?

Handle Bars- US & Europe??

So as we continue to tour in Europe today's thought was "Why do most touring bikes in the US have drop bars and those in Europe have flat bars?"
We are from the US and both of our bikes have flat or flared back bars. But my sport tourer does have drops.
Thoughts???

My "new" RD is working great!!!

We are currently touring in France and I must say the "new"/ used Shimano LX RD is working so much better than the Shadow that I had previously. I found it quite annoying with the lag after shifting for the chain to find the selected gear. Now it is a smooth and quick shift!! Also really e...
