Just checked in online with Iceland Air!

Bikes are packed, duffles are packed. Ready for a swim in the morning to be more relaxed when we fly.
We set off for our European tour tomorrow.
Will be in Portsmouth for 2 nights then ferry to Cherbourg. And the campsite pitch is booked!
Thanks to those here who have provided so much good info!

Again thanks for the info! We are booked at this campground for next Friday. This will make an easy 1st. day after we get off the ferry from Portsmouth.
We depart the us Tuesday night. Bikes will be finished packed today and the rest of the gear is all over the living room!!

Here in the US we have a product called BD Blaster. It is fantastic for "breaking loose" fasteners that are stuck.

Again thanks for your replies! Now am back on the fence of bag vs.box! I can get a Amtrak,our US tain system, box that is white large and within the Iceland Air size. Have USD these on the train and all I have to do is remove handle bars and pedals and roll it into the box. Still my biggest concern ...

Plus here in the US TSA does a very poor job of retaping the box after inspection.

Since we will be leaving from a different airport than the one we arrive at I don't want to fuss with finding a box at the end if the trip. So we are going the bag route this time.

We will be arriving in the UK in a few weeks and our brakes are the opposite. I guess we will have to walk our bikes!!

When we experience this in our shop we don't he above but add in an extra step first. We flush out the old grease/lube as we find it has gummed up. We use a spray cleaner along with a tool to get everything moving freely. Then we relube.
