Re: Garmin Explore 2

Looking at the Explore 2 and here it comes with US maps. What is involved in adding Europe or the UK?
I suppose I should have read through 6 pages of comments!

Brussels Airport?

We will be flying into Brussels and assembling our bikes. Is anyone familiar with this airport? Is there a dedicated area? Would there be a pump? That might be wishful thinking!

A question about Archie's app

Is anyone familiar enough with this to help with a te h question? When I pick a campground and want to see their website I can't get it to use Google Chrome. It always defaults to my other browser.
Advice?

Re: How to straighten front rack

We had the same situation on both of our touring bikes. I made a fixture that simulated the dropout dimension and clamped it in a vice. Then made a curved wooden block to simulate the hoop and attached it to a length of wood as a long handle. Then I bent the Tubus rack.
I keep the setup because the racks take a beating when we fly to Europe.
Since the Tubus is Chrome moly they are tweakable!

Re: A new stove for our kit?

Ordered The Soto Windmaster yesterday. The outdoor store that is close by didn't have any in stocks. But they do have an online store + we get 10% back on our purchases.
Now what else do I "need"!

I have a snap on base with 4 legs that fold out. It is very stable.

A new stove for our kit?

With many weeks before our upcoming tour I'm taking a critical look at some of our kit. In a previous post I mentioned that I was looking at a titanium cook kit. After considering the replies we nixed that idea and will stay with our stainless steel one.
Now stoves! Our MSR Pocket Rocket has been in our pack for 10 years and many thousands of miles. It has worked flawlessly. But one annoying issue is the 3 support arms. My wife,Kathy, and I are always and I mean always atoddsas to if the potis on the stove in a sturdy way.
Came across the Soto Windmaster with 4 arms AND an ignitor.
Wondering if anyone has this stove and can comment?
I wonder what piece of kit will be examined next!

Re: Considering a new Cookset

Well after a bit of reading it seems like our current cook kit is going to remain in our panniers!
Maybe I will have to carry less pastries!

Re: Considering a new Cookset

Curious about why you would only boil water. Not being familiar with titanium is there a problem cooking with it?

Considering a new Cookset

Since our European tour does not start until late August I have time to consider some kit changes!
We currently carry a stainless steel cookset and am considering a titanium set. The brand is Snow Peak which is made in Japan. Looking to start paring down weight. Yep,I know this is an expensive piece of equipment!
So anyone here have this or something similar?
Thanks!
