It appears the 2 levers have different attachment lengths?

There is only 1 upper gyro cable listed to buy that I can see?

I got my son an old bmx so we can fix it up together.

First stop is the rear brake overhaul.

It has a plastic lever as standard and I got him a new metal tektro lever,however the distance they attach are different as you can see in the picture I’ve added.

The new white one attaches closer that the standard one which is creating too much slack in the upper gyro cable when attached?

Is there a work around for this or are there 2 different lever types?

Any help great appreciated

I only lost the barrel adjuster because I left it screwed into the shifter after the snapped cable was removed.

It must have unscrewed whilst using my bike!

It was still there after I removed the cable,before going to the shop for a replacement.

Got one at my local recyc a bike, I used to help out there about 4 years ago so I know the guy,had loads lying around.

All fixed now, incidentally can anyone shed any light as to why I’m going through about 2 cables/year?

Everyone snaps at the ball end of the cable inside the shifter?

It’s the front derailleur cable adjuster.

Not sure what sti pod is?

It was screwed into the shifter on the handle bars and it’s unwound itself whilst cycling and fell out.

I’ll take a pic and go to my local recyc a bike tomorrow

So my front derailleur cable snapped on my commuter bike at the weekend. I took the cable off as it was dragging,until I got time to go get a replacement.

I got the replacement tonight and noticed the barrel adjuster has unthreaded whilst cycling and has came out!!!!!

Dammmit!!! So a quick trip to halfords at 6pm to grab one, gets home and it’s too big! It was a M7 barrel adjuster.

They didn’t have a smaller one so I’m going to have to go to another bike shop tomorrow.

I’m assuming it’s an m5 adjuster I neeed? It’s a shimano ez fire shifter on my Giant mtb

I have a Giant Rapid 1 and during the summer I had a few issues with numbness of my fingers which we discussed on here.

I was wondering what options I have to put bar ends on my bike?

What would you all recommend,it’s just really to give me an alternative position to hold whilst on longer cycles.

Doesn’t removing the chain all the time cause damage/west to the link?

There’s no play. Like I say the bike has done about 400miles from new and is 2 years old

Any idea how I go about stripping that headset?

I’ve moved them and it’s still there. Sounds as though it’s inside the fork tube?
