Clevedon~Weston Super Mare
Can anyone advise if there is a route across the river Yeo south of Clevedon. I can see footpaths from Kingston Seymour under the M5 to East Hewish which look promising but a Google search makes mention of a plan to make a cycle route over the sluice at Yeo bank farm but that was in 2011. Pleased to...

Re: Vaude Taurus split poles
Hi Slowroad Try Action Outdoors 01473 211647 I have bought Vaude tents from them for ages for our Scout Group and they are very helpful often repairing aged pole sets rather than supplying new. They have turned around repoles within a couple of days, repairs at £25ish and new pole sets £90ish. I hav...

Re: The Camping and Caravanning Club
Of course one other benefit of mambership of the C&CC is the International Camping Carnet. Something the CTC gave up on years ago to much distress to many members and caused some, including me, to not renew their membership.

Re: Lidl going up in the world
The panniers are excellent I have had them permanently fixed to my hack for four or five years, parked outside and they are bombproof. The sewing machine has not missed a beat in two years and according to the girlies who know about these things represents good value for money being able to do loads...

Re: Dia Compe dual brake lever
I may be wrong and often am....... I wasn't aware that these were offered in anything other than "top entry" with the cable outer seating in the brake lever body by means of a loose fitting gizmo, somewhat wobbly but kept in place by a combination of tension on the inner wire and the brake...

Re: Isle of Wight
Just back from IOW Great time despite the island being very commercial. Thanks Pedalsheep for your route it was great. We came back from Sandown via the cycle track along the old railway to Shide. Good enough surface for any touring setup (>28mm) nice and flat with super views as well as nature noti...

Re: Shifters. Bar-end, down-tube etc
Nearly as rare as the fabled HS56 brake lever, the Suntour Command shifter saves all the faffing and will quite happily shift 8 an 8 speed block and triple up front.

North Sea cycle route
There is a petition listed here by a guy on the Shetland Islands who is trying to reinstate a Summer link to Norway. If successful this would enable the whole of the cycle route to be completed as originally envisaged. http://www.gopetition.com/petition/38144.html Backwinds forever........

Re: what maps to use for touring
OS have a 3 for the price of two offer on at the minute and free p&P. Having toured for more years that we care to remember we are in a similar position to previous posters and have most of the interesting bits of the UK already. It gives you something to do when you get to the campsite, in the ...
