Re: Car lamps : one-eyed monster and other outrages

I think we will all be happier when car makers start competing with each other to have the easiest to change bulbs. I was contorting myself a few days ago to change a rear light bulb in our VW, and it really was a two handed job with room only for one hand. Is that really the best they can do? :lol...

If you haven’t got them, you’ll definitely want some decent mudguards for autumn in Wales.

Re: Using spray degreaser

To think we used to use Trichloroethylene baths back in the 60s!! Al I've got a spray can of the stuff, a throwback to the 70's when it was used quite liberally to clean stuff, especially electrical motors etc. We even use to gargle the stuff  oh hang on a minute wasn't that TCP! I use...

Re: Woman struck by hit-and-run cyclist in Dalston dies - BBC

A couple of observations. Firstly there are likely to very few cases which result in a conviction for causing death by dangerous cycling. It seems somewhat unnecessary therefore to oppose such legislation at the risk of giving ammunition to the anti-cycling lobby. Second illegally modified ebikes ar...

Re: MTB flat pedals - any recommendations?

The Wellgo DMR V8 copies are pretty good for a tenner and come with reflectors.

Re: Extra long tourer chain

some manufacturers list ~130 link e-bike chains (even longer chainstays...). You pay more per link than with standard length chains, IIRC. cheers I put a KMC ebike chain on one of my moultons that otherwise would need 2 bits of chains to be joined to get enough length. Must be the big ring and rela...

Re: Geraint Thomas....

There seems to have been a fair number of deaths of pro-cyclists from head injuries sustained during competition in the past few years. I would not be at all surprised if their population level risk has increased with compulsory helmet use.

Re: Countryside opening hours

Thanks for the replies. I reckon as one person said: "don't make a nuisance and just get on and use it". This map is from the Glos. definitive rights of way map. Lots of blue bridle paths and that is good enough for me. Restrictive signs are on (some) entrances to the woods I thought you ...

No public rights of way through there showing on the OS map, apart from a single yellow road.

Re: Quill Vs aheadset converter for IGH drop bar conversion

Nitto make some nice bars with 25.4 or 26 mm centres. A quill stem also looks much better.
