Re: How's your weather?

Windy in Cardiff.
9 Centigrade
Periods of bright sunshine interspersed with heavy showers and grey skies.
I managed an hour in between showers on my new to me mountain bike in the woods around Castel Coch earlier and then managed to get time between showers to clean it in the back garden.

Re: Wrong diagnosis (thankfully) front disc

I can't help but posting the make and model of hub and possibly the hex skewer may assist others in giving their opinion. I can't help either but I am intrigued to know how LittleGreyCat could see that the graunching [noise] was coming from one side . Most people hear rather than see noise. Ah! You...

Re: Only 5Nm on a stem/handlebar clamp?

An engineer told me before he died... (Hands up if you know the rest of that pub outing song!!!) ...that an allen key would tighten to the correct torque for the size of bolt being tightened if it was done up hand tight, firmly but without using undue force. Something to do with the diameter of the...

Re: Swissstop pads to thick?

There's a lot of good articles and videos on the parktools website. Next time you have to do some maintenance it might be worth spending a few minutes there before you start https://www.parktool.com/blog/repair-help

Re: Park Chain Cyclone Cleaner

Browsing around Mick I came across this. https://www.tredz.co.uk/.Park-Tool-DH-1-Dummy-Hub_83332.htm Never knew such things existed. I clean my chain off the bike using the shake-around in a plastic bottle system. But it struck me that this might be a handy companion to one of those chain cleaning ...

Re: Funniest clean joke I've heard recently

The world's foremost authority on wasps is walking down the street when he sees an old vinyl record in the window of an antique shop, "Wasp noises from around the world". Intrigued, he goes into the shop and asks if he can listen to it. "Certainly," says the shop assistant and p...

Cheers James I don't have the knowledge to answer, but I would expect those that do will want to know what sort bike/cycling you want t...
