Re: New Membership Cycling Organisation

Thank you for that explaination which is not strictly true. Posts are edited or removed for being critical and opposing the views of the GEO and Council. There is nothing in the forums rules that state such opposition isn't allowed. Simon L6, Regulator & others to many to mention I owe you an a...

Re: The CTC - is it vulnerable?

Jimmy I will not lower myself to comment on your tone. To my best belief I have never made a reply to so. I was stating a fact. I can no longer afford the CTC fees. If you open your post with a quote, or part of a quote, from another post then are you not replying to that post? and did you not open...

Re: The CTC - is it vulnerable?

So the fact that we have only 20 more members now means a heck of a large number have either move out of the area or have simply lapsed Maybe like me they can not afford the CTC subs and are switching to the cheaper BC. Or maybe, like a lot of cyclists they want the member benefits but don't want to...

Re: New members wanted - Teesside - Sunday rides

O K this has been on here for a couple of weeks now and to date 27 people have had a look. As there have been no replies or extra bodies at the Sunday rides I can only assume that there is interest from people looking to have a bit of company while out for a ride but are put off by somthing (perhap...

Re: Where do we stand?

I've been approached by a number of members who, in their experience, believe that the Chair should have voted to maintain the status quo, given the very clear divide. This is what would happen in many other organisations. How could he vote for the status quo? He wasn't using the Chairs casting vot...

Re: Where do we stand?

I think that it is important to point out that motion 8, which was the motion as to whether CTC should become a charity or not, was won only because the Chair exercised his discretionary proxy votes in favour. Prior to that the vote was clearly against the proposal. It's also important to point out...

Re: Is there going to be cross toasting at the dinner?"

Cross toasting is a tradition at CTC Annual Dinners, so why ask? I assume his reply " Not discussed it but I hope not" means he will discuss with the members attending the dinner, in any case just stand up and do it because if you don't the precedent will have been set and another CTC Trad...

.....You can nominate one of the London Councillors if you wish (I'm one of them) rather than the Chair - at least that way you'll know they'll vote as you want ........ The implication being that the Chair will disregard the proxy voters instructions and vote as he wishes? No. It is a statement of...

Re: Kevin Mayne resigns! Will he?

Will the 'democratically' elected leader Kavin Mayne tender his resignation when (should) the vote denies CTC from becoming this Trust? I certainly hope that, like other elected persons, he will (does).John. Get your facts right please Kevin is an employee therefore is not elected! The councill are...

ctc on twitter. oh yes. the tweeter who doesn't know how to use hashtags like #cycling to reach a wider audience, and who, when this was pointed out responded "I'm new to all this and don't really understand it". So hire or train someone so they do know what they are doing. What, and have...
