Honor Blackman combined brains with beauty, and when a Bond girl showed others how to depict feminity-and she is rumoured to mend a puncture with eyes closed.

Re: Flageolet beans shortage

Dried beans cheaper and more tender than canned-you need to soak overnight.I know some find this onerous but when you consider the hours put in by leanese farmers,it is a small price to pay.onvenience begins with con-for a reason.

Re: G7 Summit hosted in Cornwall

Cornwall is an isolated backwater populated by a mix of rich outsiders, like Rick Ramsey and Gordon Stine, and resentful locals who have eschewed fishing for table service and dressing up as horses.i suppose the conference will be based in garden of Eden or in Mouehole, with loades od security personnel.Should cheer up grumpy locals.

I do not like RM but he is very good at winding up people who take him at face-value.By luring gullible people with fake acts of stupidity,he distracts those people who overlook other more serious aspects of his persona. In the end the salient features are overlooked and the trivia ghas worked.Dont be a mug.

Did not clap on either occasions,as feel such gestures are empty. Many who clap have probably voted for parties fixated with income tax cuts and expenditure restraints.

Re: MTB in primary school

Two things would concern me
1.surface for riding-grass far better than tarmac etc
2. condition of bikes
I have taken kids 12-14 on road rides but bikes almost unfailingly needed attention -| did loads of repairs etc.I feel it is risky with kids under 9.

Seems an odd way to enhance safety-youbcould tow facsimile police-car for a similar effect.i use an inflatable jacket which makes me a bout a metre wide, enough for my safety.

Re: Vegan "Cheese"

We make our own, using coconut cream and tofu, with a natural colorant.Turmeric is a good colour yellow. We strain our mixture through a Muslim Bag,to separate solids and moisture.Allow a few days for fermentation, scraping off any surface mould. In spring we add chopped wild garlic and nettles. You cannot grill unless you add some extra oil.Good when added to a beef burger. It is a genuine diary free product.

IWhats the issue. The police will not bother monitoring the speeds attained-they do little about cars which can be identified. If the speed limit is increased by the state they will rightly demand
A tax
B insurance
C a test
D registration plate
These measures would be excellent.

I'd suspect that if the above were introduced for eBikes then there would be a big risk of it being introduced for all bikes. Certainly pressure from those groups who already think cyclists should pay VED, etc. and from a Police perspective not always easy to tell if it's an eBike or a non-eBike. Plus if an eBike needs tax, insurance, a test and registration plate to go above 25 km/h then why not any bike going above 25 km/h? There might be a strong argument that the risks are from the speed rather than what is powering that speed.

Too many bikes to monitor, and not enforcable.

It's all relative.

More people have signed a petition in support of increasing the limit than have signed a petition opposing it.
It's fair to assume those who haven't signed either are speed limit agnostic.

I imagine most normalpeople take little interest in this new wave of cyclists.
