Re: Never mind the Summer bike - Winter miles, Summer Smiles

Love the title (Winter miles, summer smiles). And have to admit that I'm in the bizarre situation of having walked approximately twice my cycling mileage during December & January. The fitting of a new bike computer in mid December proved the point to me this morning - my bike mileage has avera...

Never mind the Summer bike - Winter miles, Summer Smiles

Ventured out to do my February RRTY 200km bike for audax yesterday. Wet start, but brilliant glorious sunshine by the end of the day across Lincolnshire. I enjoy taking along my GoPro with me; which really helps when on long days riding solo. Hope you enjoy this video =) https://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Frisian Eleven Cities Cycling Tour

Thanks that's brilliant, I guess it helps if you know where to look.

I see that dates back to 2003, might be worth a punt on using that GPS file to claim some audax points.

Thanks again.

Re: Frisian Eleven Cities Cycling Tour

The entry for the 2019 ride is already closed. It's a, at good weather, beautifull ride on mainly traffic free roads and cycle paths. And because of the different starting times, it's not like in Belgium all 15.000 riders at the same time at the start. So my advice will be, try to get the GPS file ...

Re: 2019 - Twenty a day?

How are my fellow mile munchers doing? Well to be honest not terrible great so far, not been many opportunities to get out much. I've done just over 1000k; longest ride was 200km and it was a very windy Saturday - knackered springs to mind. Last year just under 17000km, aiming for the same sort of ...

Re: Looks about 100 kilometers is me maxed out

Probably the best bet is go for a basic bike fit. Mine cost £35, but you can easily pay much more that than. Makes all the difference, decent-ish saddle helps as well, I never paid a lot for that either, chargebikes.com

Frisian Eleven Cities Cycling Tour

Anyone else taking part in this popular bike ride in the Netherlands? Looks like it's going to be enormous fun; the pleasure of riding along the cycle infrastructure is going to be a joy that I am looking forward to with much anticipation.

Any food which decomposes gets thrown to the grown after consumed, bananas and apples. This goes for walking on foot too; it'll disappear in no time.

All packaging goes in the back pocket.

My funniest moments on my bike last year

Morning all, I have put together a short video in the last few days showing my funniest moments of two wheels from last year.

Already looking forward to what 2019 brings with plenty of holiday destinations planned.

Re: #Festive500

First time taking part in the Festive 500, and oh yeah, such favourable weather this year; thoroughly enjoyed every minute. It was great to bundle it into a holiday away from home as well; so did lots of sight seeing and climbed some pretty gruelling climbs - especially in Cornwall! DAY 1 /// Boxing...

Re: #Festive500

Done and dusted, 520km in the bag! What a great Christmas period for all - we were truly blessed for good weather this year! Story of the Summer too! It will probably be well into tomorrow before I get to edit together my video from the final ride - yesterday. The Chalke and Cheese 200km audax; I wa...

Re: #Festive500

We may have crossed paths. I rode over to Mounts Bay, to Mousehole, St Buryan over to Land's End Airport and then down to St Ives, stopping off to take a look at Pendean lighthouse. I guess that's more than likely I pretty much encircled that small piece of Cornwall; sounds like you went Clockwise ...

Day Two: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyfhInxh8h0

Probably give me legs a day off tomorrow; it's pretty hard going in Cornwall. The hills are unforgiving and come from nowhere.

Re: #Festive500

I couldn't find a thread devoted to the 2018 Rapha #Festive500 "event" so lets hear what you've been up today so far this Christmas period. Personally my own journey started on Christmas Day when I drove from Lincolnshire to Cornwall to start my holidays, Boxing Day, day one of my effort ...
