Fietselfstedentocht 2019

Hello, Last Friday I set off from Crowle in Lincolnshire on a 200km audax arriving at the port of Hull Friday evening to catch the ferry to Rotterdam. I took along my GoPro so I could capture lots of footage for my YouTube channel. I had many reasons to travel to the Neterlands, one the great cycle ...

Re: Top 10 Lincolnshire Cycling Climbs

Hi, yeah riding on the flat is a killer in the fens!

I always believed the highest point is near Normanby-le-Wold at that "golf ball" radar thing in the video. And wikipedia says that too!

Re: The Benjamin Allen's Summer outing 600km audax

I’ve just watched a few of your videos, really enjoyable. I am amazed at your positivity on these long audaxes. Going up the wrong hill would finish me off! Thanks for sharing these online. Thanks, what pwa said really. Yeah I tried and avoiding going up hill in the wrong direction as much as possi...

Re: The Benjamin Allen's Summer outing 600km audax

Haggard, indeed on watching myself back I see what you mean at the start of day two. A few hours later with a nagging head wind finally behind me I soon began to feel much better inside. Yeah I particularly choose Welsh audaxes for the elevation involved in prep for PBP; last season I was a baby to ...

The Benjamin Allen's Summer outing 600km audax

On Friday I travelled by car from Lincolnshire to Gloucestershire for the start of a 600km bike ride. This was my final Paris-Brest-Paris qualifying ride and I am really pleased to have finished it pretty comfortably with no major sense of fatigue fitness wise. More of a mental challenge though at t...

Lincoln Grand Prix sportive 2019

I've just uploaded a video of my day competing in the Lincoln Grand Prix sportive 2019 along with over a 1,000 other riders. As always I choose the longest route which in this case is over a 100 miles long. Beautiful countryside, great weather, a few tricky climbs including #28 Michaelgate awaiting ...

Paul Kirk Sportive and a day in the Peak District

Evening everyone, another busy weekend for me on two wheels, Saturday I ditched my usual long distance rides and instead did some, shall we say more "leisurely" riding than of late - in the Peak District with the climb up towards Mam Tor. I think I just have to return this Summer and conqu...

My first B2B 200km bike ride weekend of 2019

Last weekend I went on two consecutive audax calendar events, the first in Lincolnshire and the second in Yorkshire and Lancashire. Very tiring by the second half of Sunday after enduring a full day in the hills around Lancashire; weather was good to all riders and the scenery was stunning on both d...

Yeah I found that out later - it appears I need to garner 5 signatures at first to get the ball rolling.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Given the massive publicity one petition is today having on the Gov's petition website I thought I'd start my own, give it a name, a bit of background information and see what happens. Sign if you believe Brexit means Brexit. Arrange a Deal with the European Union - Post-Brexit In the 2016 Referendu...

Just another windy weekend in Lincs

The winds finally, finally had dropped enough by Sunday for me to take my action camera out on the open roads of Lincolnshire. Still pretty unpleasant at times and hit by a couple of passing showers during the afternoon. All in all - yet another great day on the saddle in spite of how I felt in the ...

For me I can tell you how I find the time in one word.
