Re: Lockdown non-touring quiz

You’re right with Scandinavia, in fact it’s Norway

Re: Lockdown non-touring quiz

I’m new to the quiz, but was on a great trip fairly recently. Not posted a photo on Tapatalk before so here, hopefully is my offering https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200916/7dbe7796f6d826ccf6bc788b0e59b2b4.jpg I'm a trendy consumer. Just look at my wobbly bog brush using hovercraft full of eels

You’ll need a bigger basket for you I think, and my mate Adam will train up the hound to give you a tow

Re: Clicking from Bottom Bracket

Years ago (over 25) I had what could have been the same problem. Tightening to the correct torque wasn’t enough so the BB tightening tool was put into a vice and the bracket ( Shimano XT ) was tightened to within an inch of its life, using the frame to torque it up. ( Alu Frame ). No more clicking -...

Re: Bar mounted compass

I’ve used a liquid filled one fixed with a Velcro strap on all my tours. Great for getting through towns and cities. Had it for twenty years. Gutted when I lost it last year when I treated myself to having new bar tape fitted in Copenhagen at a bike shop/cafe. The tech forgot to reattach it and I di...

Re: Return from the Arctic

Well so far I’ve made it to Rotterdam, it’s been a great trip so far apart from coming off the bike on the first Saturday morning. I still can’t straighten my right arm and my rear brake blocks are nearly gone as I couldn’t use the front brake for a good fortnight(changing gear was done with the lef...

Re: Return from the Arctic

I think summer was yesterday, 27 degrees and a killer 35 km/h head wind. Went over a pass that was just on the tree line and stopped in a village called Vuotso, apparently gateway to Lapland. Big thunder storm and the rain as bad today. Happy cycling in Scandinavia I'm a trendy consumer. Just look a...

Re: Return from the Arctic

Well the forth of June is rapidly approaching, I fly to Kirkenes at 10-20 and arrive at 20-00. Wish me luck with the mosquitoes and the approaching storm at the weekend. I hate being hit by lightning, especially when there is no one around to administer CPR or put the flames out I'm a trendy consume...

Re: Lake Geneva - north or south

Thanks for the advice. You confirm what the map suggests, which is that the northern route spends quite a lot of time picking its way through suburbs. South is shorter too (ignoring the little voice that says that means it’s cheating). I’m not going over any cols, except perhaps up to the Rhone’s s...
