Re: Croggy - a new one on me.

Hi "Giz a croggy duck!" Love this discussion! To me (grew up in Nottingham) a croggy meant sitting anywhere on the bike Yep, same here, (but a few miles south of you) "giz's a croggy in ya grid" It's a cob (which helpfully differentiates a sausage roll (in pastry) from a sausage...

Re: 4 Day Norfolk Tour Recommendation

Toured North Norfolk by Cycle and on foot and would highly recommend the area. Mix up a bit of coastal and inland riding and you should have a great time. The campsite at Stiffkey is good but overpriced for a 1person tent. The site at Baconsthorpe near Holt is excellent at £5 per night, you can even...

Re: ALPKIT for touring

Re: Windermere to Nottingham

Want to travel home from Windermere on Route 6 as it passes within a few hundred yards of my home in Notts. PH has suggested Route 68, I have had a quick look and should be thinking of utilising both.More research is needed.

Re: Windermere to Nottingham

I've done a fair bit of NCN 6 in two sections. North from Derby to Preston, it meanders to say the least, I think it's a joining up of several pre existing routes and certainly isn't the one most people would use between those points. it starts be heading out in the wrong direction avoiding the Pea...

Windermere to Nottingham

Thinking of doing this route (No 6) in the spring of 2019. As anyone traveled this route before?. Looking for recommendations for campsites or good wild camping spots along the way. Time is not an issue.
