Re: Notre Dame....

Anyone else remember the fire at York Minster? I do and Windsor castle. Call me a philistine but as sad as it is to lose part of this country's history it's gone so live with it. Reminds me of Trigger in Fools & Horses when he said he had had the same broom for years although it had been fitted...

Re: Trekking handlebars advice pls.

Here's a photo of mine I have just taken and I love them. So much so that I am thinking of selling some of my dropped bar racers to buy a proper trekking bike. I must admit i have waivered and took them off and replaced the drops but having done that i now think they are the most comfortable for me....

Re: bike helmet on a plane

Worth updating with my experience 6 days ago. Carried pedals, shoes helmet in backpack through security at Gatwick and no problems whatsoever. Must admit I was worried they wouldn't of been allowed as due to cost I wouldn't of liked to replace them. Made a guy laugh in boarding area when I had take ...

Re: Bernard Newman cycle author, spy, etc.

These are definitely books I will try and get now given how interesting they sound.
One of the best cycling books I have ever read was a biography on Gino Bartali. Not only a great cyclist but by his actions a great man.
Well worth a read imho.

Re: New to London and Cycling, in need of a new frame.

Hi guys, I recently came to London from Aus and my bike frame got damaged in the transport, looking at reusing as much as I can in regards to gear sets etc. No longer necessarily after a carbon frame either. So looking for a new frame and recommendation of where to buy it, I've been into a few stor...

Re: Converting from flats to butterfly bars

Just idly speculating at the moment because I've always wondered what butterfly/trekking bars are like. I've not immediately found a guide on how to convert, but from the various pictures it looks as though you should end up with the side of the bars which are closest to you, and have the brakes an...

Re: BBC Bias again

Pretty sure that the majority of us on here will find this character distasteful [...] I don't see the relevance of trying to hoodwink people into watching Stephen Yaxley-Lennon (who calls himself Tommy Robinson after a football hooligan) to this discussion. HOODWINK how dare you accuse me of doing...

Hondated I'm not going to comment further other to say that the UK will be living with this mess for a long time to come and that if there is an upside to all of this shambles it's been to show the government and opposition for what they are,a waste of time and effort and the system of demockracy i...
