Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Just read June Mummery Brexit Party MEP tweet in which she is complaining that the UK will no longer be represented in the European Parliament.

Where has she been?

Re: Sarah Montague confirms settlement with BBC over equal pay

Are people SERIOUSLY suggesting that the relevant men should be repaying some of their salary?? Not at all. I was responding to the view that the settlement in this case was too high. As someone said it was a settlement that was lower than the back pay due to earning less than a man doing the equiv...

Nice to have a choice I guess!

Sleeper back to London? You'd need to get to Aberdeen/ inverness first.

Re: Cube Nature Hybrid 500-any experience?

John, my Scotish pal with the Cube put a front wheel motor on his old Raleigh. He was very pleased with it at first but that changed because of torque steer which he thought was very dangerous. Have you had any issues with that? Al Only once as far as I recall. Fully loaded on a very steep hill wit...

Re: Trespass - to become a criminal offence?

There is plenty of law to deal with all of the above. Of the police can't/won't prosecute now I don't see how even more legislation will work. I read, sorry haven't time to search a link, that 75% of Police Forces don't want even the current proposed amendments. What they want of course is to be pr...

Re: Trespass - to become a criminal offence?

What can't be denied is that, most unusually if not uniquely, the party manifesto mentioned a target group by name : travellers. "First they came for the Communists.........m" They may not be a problem in Northumberland, but in South Essex. Illegal occupation of council/private land. Crim...

Re: Cube Nature Hybrid 500-any experience?

I have front hub drive as a retro fit. I've toured with camping gear and rear panniers only in Scotland, Cumbria and Northumberland. A couple of times I've had to push (as a 70 year old my legs are not what they used to be) and a couple of times I've had front wheel spin. Just as without assist you ...

Let them keep their titles. No-one is a 'Highness' as far as I'm concerned anyway.

Re: BLACK ICE & How to stay safe road riding in winter.

About 10 years ago I thought I was only 30 and went skating on the winter rink at Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh. I fell and shattered my elbow.

Since then I have been terrified of the ice whether in the car, on foot or on my bike. I am a fairweather person these days.

Re: Telling time on a watch with hands.

One of the ‘faces’ on my Apple Watch, is an animated Mickey Mouse. His hands point to the time, and when you tap the screen he tells you what time it is with his voice. It’s great. I had a Mickey watch when I was a kid, it didnt talk though it just ticked... Al I've had Micky mouse watches, t...

My original irritation with the particular company - Betfred - was that they also were making millions from a company that supported addiction, including, or dumbly, their own clients. It now transpires they also have financial connections with a debt counselling organisation. Once again making thei...

Re: Vanishing Topics?

Page 9 of a non-topic. Sort of. Mostly I think the mods get it right. They do so with a light touch and only appear to intervene/delete when there are no other options. I hope my comment is sufficiently ingratiating! Joking aside, I am grateful for what they do. It is an impossible task. If they are...
