Re: Thank you

Since the realisation of my issues (note I don't think of myself being disabled or suffering) I'm more able to understand and pander to my likes and dislikes - to the continual disparagement of Mrs Mick F! Now I'm more understanding of myself, I'll go to bed when I want, and get up when I wan...

Re: Julian Assange? Who's that?

... A Swedish court threw it out. Are you sure that's right? I thought a Swedish public prosecutor had unsuccessfully applied for some sort of arrest warrant which would have enabled the issue of a European arrest warrant which would have facilitated a streamlined transfer to Sweden. In the meantim...

I have to speculate: why not Sweden? Isn't (alleged) rape as serious a crime as (alleged) espionage?

A Swedish court threw it out.

Re: End of Pensioner "Perks"

Totally agree. That's why I'm all for scrapping it totally. I'd also preserve the free bus pass but only for people who reach their state retirement (67 for me). Most 60-year olds are still working and don't really need it. It's not issued at 60... It is in Wales. I hadn't realised it varied within...

To think that a month or so ago most of these people were sitting around the Cabinet table pretending to be the Govenment. Now they are, to mix my metaphors, at each others' throats whilst stabbing each other in the back.

Interesting juxtaposition, if a little edited (by me) to remove context.

Re: Trains...why?

Next week I get the train (with my bike) from Berwick to Morpeth (50 mikes) for £2.45. I cycle to Hexham (40 miles) and spend a couple of days around the Roman Wall and then cycle to Newcastle (35 miles). I then get the train to Berwick (65miles) for £4.40. If that isn't a bargain I don't know what ...

Re: Tory leader - place your bets

Andrea Leadsom 12/1 get that while you can, I don't think the odds have caught up with the advantage her resignation could make. Penny Mordaunt 20/1 bit unlikely I know, but IMO there's still more chance of it than the odds suggest David Lidington 33/1 even more of an outsider and a remainer to boo...

I don't doubt that in the slightest.

You might, sort of, get fed (£1.98 a day, believe) but you are unlikely to be warm and you don't get free tv.
