In terms of skill, I've done a few sportives in the past about 50-60 miles and one time trial. Other than that I do leisurely local rides that are about 15 miles long.

Thank you all very much for your advice. I have Continental GP 4000 II tyres which I bought separately they didn't come with the bike. I am 6' 2" and weigh 95KG. Sounds like I just need to put the mileage in and then fitness and speed should naturally improve. Interesting what has been said abo...
