This all worked well until the last 7 days (out of 56 days) of my trip when the iPhone refused to accept charge from the power bank :( and had to dash into cafes...

Re: Rookie Cycle Tour from London to Trieste

haha - Vorpal - Mattheus is right. Also I found a lot of bicycles are taken to the dump!!! You had a taste of some of the typical debates about equipment - you might need years to understand everything! :) Defo, although I could have understood the dynamo and interaction with the charger before I st...

Re: Advice for buying a women’s Hybrid Bike

Maybe can purchase a preloved / second hand bicycle? Just a thought - the "waste recycling" centres seem to have a lot of bicycles being thrown out, and is an opportunity to learn about how to maintain a bicycle. I rode a 2nd hand man's bicycle and loved it. The major thing for me was chan...

Which aspects did you enjoy and endure the most? 3. When your commitments were finished did you find the j...

Re: Rookie Cycle Tour from London to Trieste

Saw quite a few going your direction on the 3rd day. The ones that stopped to talk to us looked us pitifully :) As I get closer to Calais am deciding whether I should go thru London to get to Windsor or again skip it. Find it dirty smelly and noisy (too full of cars and people). Does anyone know if ...

Re: Rookie Cycle Tour from London to Trieste

Got about 350km to complete in 3 days. Completed 90 km yesterday and managed a TOP speed down hill of 55km/hr. Quit at 5pm as raining and speeding down hills doesn’t feel comfortable. And I do like to take advantage of having worked up the hills or mountains
