Looks like fun- in the guardian today. Suffolk 248miles wolf route.
Our 2016 tour of East Anglia included an evening of Shakespeare at Kentwell Hall.
And great to see a national newspaper discussing and promoting cycling.

This is such an important point: improving the behaviour of the executive is crucial, and quite different from any changes in policy, whether economic, social or on any other axis. All the signs are that a Starmer gov, even with a large majority, is going to disappoint those hoping for a major change in UK politics. There are clear signs of a shift away from radical policies (e.g. green agenda) towards the right, and Rachel Reeves is already buttering up and accepting large donations from the usual lobby groups - e.g. gambling.
Combined with the dire financial state that will be inherited, I'm afraid the best that can be hoped for is a change in morality - i.e. fewer dodgy Tory MP's - but not much else.

New: the president of Brittany Ferries says the French government will sign a decree tomorrow which will force P&O Ferries to pay the French minimum wage.
It’s not clear how long the company will be given to comply.
UK government hopes to implement similar law “in the summer”.

Just a conversation, no project yet. 3.6 GW aggregate across several cables.
Massive, but no great unknowns...

Second, quite a few routes near me go onto public access land or dead end at the top of a hill or something. What are the rules for bikes on public access land? Could I cycle from the end of one route across the hill on public access land and then meet up with the dead end of another route?

However, I think that a wide tyre would be more comfortable and allow more flexibility if your tastes change. Unless I had a whole quiver of options in the shed, I'd want at least 32mm on a general purpose road bike if i was buying new now.

How important is puncture resistance?PaulK wrote: ↑18 Mar 2024, 6:31pm Evening all
So Ive got my new Trek 2023 Émonda SL 5 in a stunning blue paintjob whilst i may eventually change out the wheels to begin with they are fine.
Was thinking though are some tyres more puncture resistant than others ?? (I'm assuming those it shipped with are super basic).
Would also like to go to the max recommended tyre size of 28mm (over the 26mm shipped).
Seems like the choice is endless ! Looking to ideally increase ride comfort a tad while still being able to maintain a fair clip.
Something worthwhile doing ?? Whats recommended.

Re: BEVs
it's repeatedly reported that range anxiety is more common in those who aren't familiar with BEVs. It might be a bit more subtle than that...[XAP]Bob wrote: ↑16 Mar 2023, 4:14pmThe only people I know of who have range anxiety are those who don't drive BEVs...
I know of plenty of people who panic when the fuel warning light comes on - I used to do 60 miles further before filling up.
In a BEV you have a couple of really useful tools:
- A generally good range-o-meter
- The ability to increase efficiency and therefore extend range, by just dropping 5mph.
