Re: A technology too far?

I've found adjusting mechanical gearing very easy and intuitive, and I'm by no means a mechanic. I don't think I'd make the move to electric shifting unless it was really foolproof, which currently it seems not...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

So, almost 3 years down the road from the vote and not an inch further forward and a seeming total impasse on any Parliamentary agreement. It seems to me that this complete stalling is part of a long term strategy to if not defeat Brexit then kick it so far down the road (5 years, 10 even) that the ...

Re: Intimidating Motorists?

New dents? Flat tyres? Substitute 'some wag' for 'some idiot'. Sounds like vandalism. Nothing remotely funny here. No wonder many motorists have a low opinion of cyclists. Thanks for nothing. If a motorist put you off the road, and either injured you, or damaged your bicycle you know damn well the ...

Re: Intimidating Motorists?

It's easy to condemn acts of minor reciprocal behaviour, but when you're been nearly killed, or injured by a motorist you soon change your mind. In terms of vulnerability, it's all the cyclists way. I don't know of any motorists who have been injured by a bicycle.. M

Re: Titanium seatpost that is all titanium

The Campagnolo Ti posts pop up on eBay now and again but they do tend to command a price premium. Probably about the same as the JL above, but Campagnolo quality..

Re: Flu

I've had the flu (the incapacitating type) roughly once every two years for the past ten years. I've also been taking the flu jab in all that time and have come to the conclusion that it's pretty ineffective. I find the best way to avoid any infection is to limit your exposure to germs in the winter...

Great updates, you should be posting YouTube. You would probably get thousands of hits. Maybe even go viral with Wetherspoons users :)

Frame Warranty

Just purchased a Boardman aluminium frame from circa 2013. Whopping creaking noise from the BB any time I go up a hill. I've read there are a lot of issues with Boardmans of this era. Anyone know the warranty situation? Applicable to original owners only?

Re: Eggs thrown from passing vehicle

I read on another forum (perhaps apocryphal!) of cyclist being hit by a flying small dog, who apparently annoyed its owner so much he launched the dog straight at him.

This was in Manchester, of course.

I am reminded of a photo of Fausto Coppi riding fixed, reading a newspaper, with a coffee in one hand and both feet on the handlebars. No one was killed.
