Re: Looking for an E-bike

For a Bosch powered bike you're going to struggle on 1500 budget. But it's not impossible. EBay is good for new ebikes at massive discount. Best bet.

Re: Cycling for weight loss - Advice sought

I lost about 16lbs last year on the 5:2 fast diet. So, you fast on 600cals a day (egg or omelette breakfast, fruit for lunch and normal 300-400cal dinner) two days a week. They can't be consecutive days. I normally picked Tue/Thu. The evening from 8pm till bedtime can be tough but I nibbled my way t...

Re: Route suggestions - Northern France

St Malo down towards Quimper is stunning, mostky small villages and quiet little roads, with the odd chateau thrown in. I did it maybe 25 years ago when it was very cheap (pre euro). We spent about 10 quid a day between two of us for restaurants. I would imagine eating out in France is a lot more co...

I say there's at least one more ride in those cleats - to the Shimano shoes graveyard!

Re: Best time for LeJog

I'm hoping for at least dry weather. I've cycled through Lake District into Scotland last year, as far as Fort William and I got mostly very dry and bright overcast days from around end June to mid July. Even though the temperatures were high last summer, it was still very comfortable 25C in Scotlan...

Re: Iain's 2019 LeJog

I have booked about 70% of my lodgings via Airbnb. I've only had good experiences with them, and I've been able to get individual apartments or houses for me and my partner for roughly the same price as a night for two in the YHA or independent hostel. All the comfort of home for around £40 a night.

Re: Colnago Master Olympic Frame for sale

I find ebay sold listings are a very helpful guide when I'm unsure of the value of an item, whether I am a buyer, seller or just an interested observer. It’s a long time since I had my Colnago obsession, but do as you do when interested in buying something. Nice frame though. I ended the auction be...

Re: Colnago Master Olympic Frame for sale

To be fair ... I guarantee its in absolutely mint mechanical and cosmetic condition. To be fair, you would say that, wouldn't you! To be fair, youre probably not interested to buy it, are you. At £1300 less than a new Master (which is arguably not even in the same league as a vintage one), you prob...

Re: Colnago Master Olympic Frame for sale

To be fair, for someone paying the asking price, they'd be mad not inspect a frame that's over 25 years old. To be fair it's steel, not carbon, and its not been used much in the last 20 years. And I guarantee its in absolutely mint mechanical and cosmetic condition. Like I said above, it's as close...
