Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

I don't really care if there are other cars or cyclists heading my way Hmm, username checks out. There are many poorly lit cyclists and a few blinding ones in Cambridge. Their ignorance or inconsiderateness is not a good reason for being ignorant and inconsiderate yourself, not least because you bl...

Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

I don't really care if there are other cars or cyclists heading my way You may care if an oncoming car or cyclist is blinded by the beam and ends up driving or riding into you because they cannot see where they are going. Similarly car drivers may switch to full beam either as a means of indicating...

Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

I bought Supernova because I want a very bright front light .... I ride in the pitch dark on unlit roads with potholes and debris ....I am actually very glad that I bought this light, because it's a pleasure riding in the dark now ... when this light needs replacing in a few years time, I will buy ...

Re: Large Bright Jacket

Buy any jacket that takes your fancy, and get a proviz REFLECT360 Men's Cycling Gilet to wear over the jacket ... they go as large as XXXXXL https://www.provizsports.com/en-gb/media/catalog/product/cache/38/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/3/6/360-mens-cycling-gilet-front-with-sticker-lr_1.jpg

Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

The Supernova front light is very bright and makes the night look like day, so if you are cycling on roads with lots of cyclists heading towards you, you need to tilt the front light down .... You can't tilt it down far enough for it to not dazzle oncoming cyclists and drivers and it still be any u...

Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

I've recently bought the SON28 and Supernova E3 Triple lights (front and rear) .... both the hub and the lights have a 5 year warranty I commute daily when it's dark and get home when it's dark .... I will also be cycling Audax and touring, so I did not mind spending the additional money The Superno...

Re: Supernova E3 Triple front light - stand light not working?

all fixed now .... the front light was fitted, and the wires that are on the light that connect to the rear light were taped (I have to buy a new rear Tubus rack this month before I connect the Supernova rear light .... the Supernova rear light connects directly to the front light) the bare ends of ...

Re: Tubeless tyres .... What I've learned so far

Seems very complicated What are the advantages? It's very easy .... add sealant, pump the tyres and ride .... 9 out of 10 times, if you do get a puncture, it self seals and you don't even have to stop riding ... worst case scenario, if you get a puncture that does not seal, add an inner tube (you wo...

Re: Tubeless tyres .... What I've learned so far

Dim, just curious, how often have you had to resort to an inner tube, and why? I've switched to tubeless more recently, and am wondering whether carrying an inner tube is excessive, in addition to the plugs & sealant. I've never had to use an inner tube yet, but always carry one. (I also have I...

Tubeless tyres .... What I've learned so far

I've been using tubeless for a few years now ..... what I've learned so far: (hope this helps for people sitting on the fence): only use tubeless ready rims (you can use tubeless tyres aswell as regular clincher tyres and tubeless tyres work great with inner tubes aswell) the wider the tyre, the mor...
