Re: Forehead mounting for an "action cam"?

If your camera is compatabe with a go pro mount get a K Edge handlebar mount where you can mount your bike computer and underneath your camera .... quality but pricy when compared to other similar mounts https://k-edge.com/shop/computer-mounts/garmin-mounts/garmin-xl-combo-mount/ I've tried a helmet...

Re: Bike advice: one bike that does it all?

I opted for 2nd hand, but looked at classic/vintage touring bikes that are regarded by many as very good There were 3 bikes that stood out for me, namely a 1980's Miyata 1000 , a 1980's Trek 720 and a 1980's Specialized Expedition. I was fortunate enough to find a 1985 Miyata 1000 in mint condition ...

Re: Deliveroo

I've done a fair bit of work for Deliveroo here in Cambridge a few years ago .... when I applied for the position, I had to complete an online questionaire as regards safety etc, then I had to meet a guy in the city who then took a group of us (new Deliveroo applicants) for a ride through the city. ...

Re: Old rubber - out of date? dangerous?

I recently bought a 1985 Miyata 1000 Grand Tourer from a guy in Germany. Bike was hardly ridden and it belonged to his late father. He said that his father bought it brand new and only used it a handful of times as he was nervous riding it through the traffic and could not get on with drop bars it s...

Re: Garmin Varia RTL510 light/radar

If it was £20 I might have bought one, but at that price......no chance! I too cycle mostly on lanes and I can always hear a car approaching from behind, it's going round a blind bend and facing an oncoming car that is my greatest hazard. I've been hit twice from behind, the first time by a caravan...

Re: Giant TCR Advanced Pro 1 overkill for first road bike?

if it fits, and it's in good condition, consider buying it. I've owned a Giant TCR and it's a great bike. However, if you intend to use it for commuting aswell, look at a Giant Defy or a Trek Domane.... those would be a better bike for commuting, and with your budget of £1800 you could find somethin...

Re: Ortlieb Backroller Pro Plus anyone use them?

those 70l pannier bags are the ones that I will be getting, together with the smaller matching front pannier bags

it's a pity they don't make the 70l size in the black in the high viz material such as the photo below:

Re: Garmin or Wahoo ?

I'm planning a fishing/wild camping cycling tour in Ireland and my Garmin Edge 1000 is starting to play up (could be the new software release that I've uploaded).... on some days it struggles to find the sattelites so, I'm looking for a second unit as a backup. I'm in 2 minds as to what to buy, but ...

Re: Charging whilst cycling touring??

for the garmin edge, use one of these with the 90 degree connection (you can get them in USB C type) but you have to get the one that allows you to charge the Garmin while it works and records your ride at the same time: https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1TpCDaASWBuNjSszdq6zeSpXa4/90-Degree-USB-C-USB-3-...
