Re: VADO 4 SL chain jumping off

I was going down from 46t to 38t but if you need larger than 38t there are plenty of other makes out there, Praxis have a bit of a reputation for dropping the chain on some forums.

Re: VADO 4 SL chain jumping off

I changed the chainring on my Creo( same engine) for a raceface much better than the Praxis, by the way I didn't know a 13 speed set up was available on a Vado.

Re: Not an Orbea in sight

I bought a Specialized Creo last year and it has been excellent although more expensive.

Re: Road / Gravel e-bike for under 3K

I purchased a Specialized Comp Carbon Creo 3 months ago, It weighs under 14kg and is a revelation around the Peak District, the motor is faultless and after coming from a heavier Bosch powered bike feels much more natural although a bit expensive.

Re: Fazua range

Have you had a look at the Specialized Creo? I went from a Carrera Crossfuse with a Bosch ALP motor to a Specialized Creo Comp Carbon Evo a few months a go, The Specialized weighs in at 14kg whereas the Carrera was 23kg we have a lot of climbing around the Peak District and I have found it much easier with the Specialized even though on paper it has less power 35Nm. The transition from pedal assist to leg power at the cutoff is seamless and the power settings can be customized with the mission control app. On the factory eco setting I am getting about 90 mile range on average.

Greenbuilder wrote:Yes and no; but in the same way, would you consider electric cars overpriced?
Pay £12500 for a Specialized S-Works Turbo Levo SL, with complex mid-drive motor, coupled to a super light carbon full-sus frame.
Or spend £899 for a Whoosh Faro. A light weight utility commuter with a generic rear hub motor; simple, reliable technology, but still a custom frame with built-in battery.
The Specialized Levo is their top spec off-road machine and someone must have bought one, but people don't replace their cars with this kind of bike.
The Whoosh Faro is from a well-respected UK outlet and I think basic, well designed e-bikes like this will help more of us make the difficult transition out of their cars on to two wheels.

I bought a Specialized Comp Carbon Evo not quite in the same price bracket (£7000) cheaper but still an amazing piece of kit.

Also mid-bar sub brakes can be added to the Specialized in tandem with the standard levers.

Have you had a look at the Specialized Creo? I bought the gravel version a few months ago and it is fantastic, It copes with all the climbing I do around the Peak District albeit a it expensive. If you are going to use Halfords you could check out the Boardman range, Orbea and Ribble are also quite good.

Re: Looking for an E-bike

The Crossfuse is a great bike I have done about 100 mls on mine, I bought it to replace my Wisper 905se which I was selling but then ended up having a heart attack so have kept the Wisper until I get my fitness back as I can ghost pedal with it being a hub motor. I am not sure if warranties are transferable with Halfords, the prices might drop slightly over the Bank Holiday if Halfords have a sale and I certainly recommend them.
