Re: Islabikes for kids
We have a Beinn 24, a Beinn 20 large, a Gnoc 16 and a Rothan in our garage. We love and adore our grandchildren and would not dream of anything less than Islabikes for them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: What bike to take on the ferry?
I recently completed Portsmouth - St Malo return with Brittany Ferries and was left to my own devices both ways. The crew in the hold seemed fairly courteous throughout. We can concur with this experience on P&O P-St.M. The staff were great and the bike space was quite a big 'room' with rails a...

Re: Trailer or Panniers
Hi Ralph If you are still pondering, we bought a Burley for cycle camping with Joybringer, our tandem, last summer but not had chance to try it as yet although hopefully we will have the opportunity within the next couple of months. We are on the other side of the Peak from you but you are welcome t...

Re: Burgundy with a Tandem
Yes but Joybringer could have a ride on the roof of the car part way. We like to do as much walking and cycling as possible whilst on holiday as it means we can spend a certain amount of time sampling the local food and wines so our tandem is very much our day to day transport but not exclusi...

Re: Burgundy with a Tandem
We'll have a look at Vienne in the guide book as it's possibly not too far for a pedal out and a look at the ruins. Mostly we avoid towns and head out on the tiny lanes to the little villages. I enjoy the chance to use my French and being amongst the villagers often gives the best opportunity. I alw...

Re: Burgundy with a Tandem
Hi Johnb. We definitely hope to get to Chateauneuf... the Mecca for Mothy's favourite wine, but also hope to get to Cluny and and some of the other religious sites. The only built up day we have planned is to head up to Dijon to go to the tomb of the Dukes of Burgundy. Which campsite did you use, Jo...

Re: Burgundy with a Tandem
Wow,! Thanks Wirralcyclist!
There's loads of ideas on that site!
Mothy will check out the GPS options for some of the routes which will be really useful. We don't want to waste a moment of our 'oh so short' holiday.

Burgundy with a Tandem
We will be doing some fixed base touring from just south of Chalon sur Soane (South of Dijon) at the end of August / beginning of September. Has anyone got any routes they can recommend, please?... preferably routes of no more than 100/150km to allow time for tea-shopping... or visiting the odd vine...

Rohloff with trailer
Hi All Just doing a bit of research before our next tour. We have decided that touring might be better on the tandem with a trailer rather than putting all our gear in panniers. :?: -Has anyone used a trailer on a tandem / bicycle with a Rohloff hub? :?: -Are one or two wheels (on the trailer...we a...

Re: How do I add photos?
Thankyou Colin. It sounds like we need to shrink our pickies a bit as we did what you said. This sounds like a project for our computor / photo mad daughter after she has done her 'school ski' (she can't run in the white stuff) tomorrow.

How do I add photos?
We've put some tr/bikes on the 'For Sale' board but can't work out how to add photos. We've got pickies of two of the tr/bikes taken with a digital camera which are jpg images by default. These are ok to email in response to a pm but they are invalid for adding to the adverts. Can someone who is not...
