CYCLING UK main membership app
I cannot find this in a search
It's not on main web page

The reason being I bought in a shop and used the card for proof of membership for the discount

This card was not accepted as proof anymore and was told to download app

A few shops have went down this route
Thanks all

slowster wrote: 14 Feb 2024, 12:00pm Park Tool and others offer clamp heads that mount to vertical and horizontal surfaces. Instead of mounting them to a permanent surface, they could be bolted to a demountable fixture.

For example, the PCS-12.2 below could be bolted to a couple of sheets of plywood (four holes in the bottom sheet to provide recesses for the bolts securing the clamp to the top sheet). Sheets of large enough length/width could be placed on a table and held in place with g clamps.

This is just an example ..you would need to modify it yourself for your circumstances
But go along with the ply back board as suggested above
Maybe shaped to fit snuggly around door architrave and lined in foam protection
The outdoor shots are because I don't want to drag the bike indoor for a photo shoot
Hopefully you get the main idea
And of course it can be clamped anywhere in house if need be

I have a pair of Thule cycle rack on the for sale forum if it's of any interest
Thanks

Re: Another sleeping mat question.

Thanks lads again
I think between a couple of you ...the answer is a barrier between Matt and bag and the liner ( which I have ) seems to best solutions
I cannot do anything about rolling around I'm afraid
Thanks again and apologies to original OP for getting his post off track
Reckon I'm more less sorted on my issue now

Re: Another sleeping mat question.

I bear that in mind regarding the towel trick
I look at the material contacts too see if it can be improved any
I'm not that regular/experienced camper
I may even have had the thermorrest blew to hard ..coupled with body weight it may been that which made the Matt hard/slippy

Re: Another sleeping mat question.

Thanks for that
Makes sense when it's explained by a more experienced guy
But I hope you can see why I tried that to avoid sliding around the thermarest
I think I may buy a wider thermorrest
Thanks again

Re: Another sleeping mat question.

Looking for a little further advice from you experienced travellers
I've only camped several times so very inexperienced
I do have a short thermarest
I noticed that I used to slide around the thermarest and then finally "tried" out putting the thermorrest INSIDE my sleeping bag and lay on top ...this made the sleep bag not as comfy but at least I slept on the pack all night
My qwestion is
Would this method some how reduce the effectiveness off my sleeping bag or insulation from ground to body as my sleeping bag is in effect touching the sleeping surface ....if that makes sense

On this runner beam you get a WHEELED BEAM CLAMP this will allow the hoist to be trolleyed along the run of bikes enabling ONE hoist to be used to lift/lower each bike into each stand
The hoists are called CHAIN FALLS and can be found at very reasonable costs or visit any known fabrication shop and they may donate one as they meant to have a rigging check every few years

Thanks. The H-beam might work better as an I-beam :D . Yes, we had thought of something like this but your illustration of the wheels is helpful. As bikes are fairly light, a small I-beam would work, even for a long span. I'll do the sums. BTW the German for chain fall is Kettenflaschenzug.
Fir further ease
The H beam does not get secured to the ceiling ...I dud say that ...but it goes inside the brick wall either side and then wedged up tight with wedges or slate
A builder will tell you but it's really a decent DIY job
You may even get a cheap beam on gumtree as there's always off cuts around
Or even buildings that get renovated

Re: Cyclestreets on android?

Update in cycle travel app for android
I just tried to download the app again but this time it's says it will download automatically when the app is available for android/Google phones
So maybe it's not too far away
