Re: Help me spec my new bike

I have a set of the wide aero race wheels, they really nice however not very subtle in the freewheel noise (typical from Hunt). They spin up really well even after 2 years of use. Sub 1500g for the money I highly recomend them. The only reason I no longer use them (on GF's training bike now) is I've...

Re: Bike security

If I am on my training bike or commuter, I will use a thin pocket lock. If I have the Sunday best, I generally take the same lock however it does not leave my sight (about £8k's worth of bike).

Do you not normally clean your bottles then? TBH should clean them as often as you clean a glass or a cup.

Re: Intentionally struck by vehicle - what recourse?

Do the plod actually do anything these days? Yes they do. I Was hit deliberately and the driver tried avoiding the police and his own insurance company, who have now taken him to court and got 6 points plus a fine. It was all on camera. Apparently leaving the scene to make a food delivery wa...

Re: The Disc Brake Naughty Corner Thread

It was not raining, the road was wet. I was riding well within my abilities. The only time I have had an issue of not being able to stop fast enough was when a car deliberately pulled in and stopped infront of me. Which I then hit (just) had I been on my bike with disc brakes I have no doubt in my m...

Re: The Disc Brake Naughty Corner Thread

Superior in what way, what advantage does it give you, is it the confidence to go faster and brake later with less thinking about braking? I last cleaned my every day bikes rims in early summer, probably after it rained, it took all of two minutes, oh and I had to turn the barrel adjuster on the le...

In the New Forest the donkey's rule the roost.... along with ponies, cows, pigs. Apparently brakes were not the list of gods wishes.

Re: The Disc Brake Naughty Corner Thread

I have 3 bikes, 2 rim brakes and 1 disc. I would happily go to all discs. I do ride in the rain and find them far Superior in the wet. I find I have to clean the rim far more to keep reasonable braking more than I do with my discs. Difference between ultegra and DA rotor's...FA bar colour and weigh...

It's happened to me, I'd even tapped on the drivers window previously as he was driving alongside me.
It was all on camera and the driver has been taken to court.

Have you thought about the New Forest area? on-road, off-road, pubs, villages, bike shops all around the area.

It would look wrong on a brightly coloured bike with everything else shiny silver alu.
