Re: strange technical question Bottom Brackets

im crap at explaning tecnical stuff. but as will says i want to fit a bafang utra mount plat to a standard frame. the issue seems to be if i fit the plate and keep the crank possition (bottom bracket hole) in the same place, i either would have to drop the wheel size of extend the full back frame.

so all im asking would it matter if the BB possision was futher forward.

strange technical question Bottom Brackets

so strange question i will do my best to expleane, also added a pic.

so normally the bottom bracket holder on the frame is below the down tube, my question is does it have to be and is there a reason it has to be, could it be slightly forward and what diffrence would it make, apart fro the chain lenth. im not taking loads maybe a few cm.

any advice and help

Re: What 18650 batteries for your battery pack?

i do like 29E but a tad low on the A so not great for big motors unless using a high P. havnt had much of a problem with the 30Q. but i normally use the sony 30 and 35A for big motors

Re: What 18650 batteries for your battery pack?

i think I’ve just built battery 400, thought lost count. So i would hope i no a little by now.

Tend to stick with 35e for smaller motors, though i do keep Sanyo and LG for some rebuilds i do for a company. Slightly bigger motors i switch to 30Q. And for really big motors Sony 30 or 35a.

apart from a recent experimental build for someone, to 36v running as a 72v to run a 3000w motor, never had any problems stick with those cells. but the 2 x 36 running as a 72 failed and was having issues. in my defence i was asked to build like that, and even though i over specked the 36v packs, one drained quicker than the other.

but i would definitely look at Samsung 35e for a 250w motor, lots of ah in a small pack.

Re: What 18650 batteries for your battery pack?

i use several diffrent cells for diffrent motors, its always a trade of between cost mAh and draw.

depending on the P of the pack and budget, i tend to use samsung 35e for smaller motors, enough draw and lots of mAh without having a massive pack.

a 17.5ah softpack 10s5p is only 20 x 12 x 7cm

Re: Depleting Lithium Batteries

as said fully charging your battery and leaving it stood now and then isnt going to do it major harm. but constantly topping it up to full to let it stand, wont do it any good. will shorten its life.

i have a luna smart and it has 80% for standing 90% for everyday use and 100% if you planing heavy use.

as also been said it more dangerous to stand to far discharged. i wouldn't let it satnd for long under 22 or 23v i would look at 24 to 25v for long term standing, quick check once a month.

Re: 48v 250w motor

so little of subject. so if you have a 250w that can put out 576w then is it still uk road legal.

im also a tad shocked that bafang have not brought out a 250w 48v yet.

now i cant remeber its name. and modle and if some one please remind me, but bafang to have the high power 250w witch is a rebadge 500w but thats only 36v i believe.

good solution, get a knacked 250w motor, strip it out, buy a 48v bafang 350 and swap the guts over lol

Re: Replacement cells.

most packs can be recelled, though doesnt alway prove the cheapest option.

more info on the current pack will be needed.
