Re: Travel prepping + What are some funny quandaries you churn over?

I've built 2 large spreadsheets of resources that can be found using a simple gps navigator. Click the links below to see: • Travel Resources • Travel Resources by UK Area I also plan to print a series of pamphlets seperated by areas of the UK to have and distribute as back up hard copies. I'm doing...

Re: How would you carve up the UK by cycling regions?

I feel some of that map is more political groupings than cycling landscape. Based on what I've felt cycling, I'd rearrange the central band of England into. . . I like it. It's less compact, so there might be say open mic nights listed in the city next door I'll have to flick back and forth to find...

Re: How would you carve up the UK by cycling regions?

Okay I've decided how I'm going to divide up my pamphlet series of resources for England & Wales. Happy to take suggestions and I'll just see where my travels take me also to know if I'd have prefered them to be organised differently and change accordingly: https://i.imgur.com/CLry6Gq.png

Re: How would you carve up the UK by cycling regions?

Look like for what? I was thinking for cycle tourers like guide book style pamphlets, what are the most popular areas to want to visit and where would you want to draw a line in the sand between them, so say if you were doing one long road you weren't having to check between seperate pamphlets for ...

How would you carve up the UK by cycling regions?

-

Found this old map of pre-1940 Triumph Motor Club Regions and wondered what a cycling regions map of the UK would look like.

Some other maps for inspiration.

And a blank map if you care to draw some lines in paint and upload to imgur.

Re: Travel prepping + What are some funny quandaries you churn over?

Appreciate all the responses. I also get how this travel plan looks the least romantic adventure on earth haha. If I had my eyes on somewhere unfamiliar like Southern France for the grape season I wouldn't put any planning in except maybe making sure the bike and tent are fit for purpose. It's just ...

Re: Travel prepping + What are some funny quandaries you churn over?

I’ve reread it and you’re doing it in Summer :D You’ll need to scrap event number 7 ). You are right for the most part, there's just a few groups which start cub hunting in August. There's too much suspicion and paranoia among the different sab groups, so getting to know people and showing willingn...

Travel prepping + What are some funny quandaries you churn over?

I'm planning for a cycle tour next summer and working through all those unanswerable quandaries. For example on whether I should get an add-on e-bike kit. I figure the first big tour I do in a while I'll enjoy the fitness challenge more for me if I don't have the distraction of knowing at times I co...
