Re: Isle of Mull - Loch Buie
When i cycled on mull i purchased the footprint visitors' map on the ferry over. Necessary since I had done precisely no days planning and went up on a whim because the weather looked nice  . http://stirlingsurveys.co.uk/visit.php It shows all footpaths, and also paths suitable for cycling (t...

Re: Brittany Ferries update
I think some of their ferries may have been switched to Irish routes. I've been keeping an eye on this crossing, Ireland-France, once we have more freedoms to travel (for me NI/RoI/F), putting in some random summer dates into the Brittany Ferries web-site, bicycles do seem to be bookable: Your book...

Re: 2 SLIME or not 2 SLIME?
I had slime in both tubes, it was awful, gunging up the valves, which would then slowly leak air over time as they wouldn't close up properly after pumping up, and I'm sure the gunge slowed me down on the road! More rolling resistance?! Any way, I ditched the tubes with the slime and bought new tube...

Re: Gravel Bike
Great photo! And it is a gravel road (I expect it's smooth tarmac now*). But we should beware of falling into the "someone extraordinary did this so you can too" trap. Well when I was a kid we used to go all over the place often on stuff a lot worse than that on 5 speed "racers"...

My copy arrived today, completely soaked, it's now dry but wrinkly... Keith I hope you complain to RM, waterproofing mail shouldn't be the responsibility of the sender, I'm glad it's not wrapped in plastic. I have indeed, it's affected other stuff I've received lately, though the weather here has b...

My copy arrived today, completely soaked, it's now dry but wrinkly... IMG_20210205_104323470.jpg I like the mag, there are no 'normal' cycling magazines on the shelves, just ones for sporty types or mountain bike types, I'm neither of those. I just wish the mag was longer or more frequent, and bette...

Re: Camping in England
Somewhere out there on the web is a website listing pubs that allow forms of over nighting in their grounds. Usual requirement is that you eat/drink there and there may or may not be a cost.My experience of the website was that it catered for camper vans but I bet many a pub has a spare bit of lawn...

Re: Touring overseas 2021
One thing for sure, as soon as it is deemed possible (by any countries concerned) to travel in Europe again there will be a mad rush. Ferry and air tickets (and accomodation) will be like gold dust. Such a pent-up demand, at least from those who don't have financial worries and haven't been spendin...
