Re: Cannondale Ebike

I am attracted by the weight of this bike having now had second thoughts on the Fazua system ( Boardman and the Bergamont types). Done 100 miles commuting miles on the Boardman with Fazua system now. Loving it, gives a really nice boost when it really matters, hills/wind. If you just want to sit ba...

Keeping a battery charged at 100% for 4 months at a time is WORST thing you can do with a lithium ion battery. It will dramatically increase battery degredation.

Re: Boardman man 8.9E hybrid ordered.

I too have been looking at these mainly because of their light weight. They look and feel very good in the shops I must say. However I read somewhere or perhaps saw it on a youtube clip that the Fazua battery turns itself off after a period of inactivity ( possibly 45 mins?) and to start it again a...

Re: Boardman man 8.9E hybrid ordered.

First commute done, 19km round trip, got battered by the wind abit, really glad to have the assistance. Used sub 20% battery. Have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so it'll be Wednesday before getting back on the bike. Overall really happy with first ride, gives me the right mxiture of effort/work ou...

Re: Boardman man 8.9E hybrid ordered.

And its here, looks and feels fab. I was worried about spending so much on a Halfords bike, but very happy. Have added some mandatory lights, toe clips, first commute tomorrow:).

Re: The future for ebikes?

The whole grid collapsing worry is a myth, 100%. Forget everything else, if you consider peak uk grid demand, which is about 5-8pm, and the stories about how at break time for Coronation street the grid has to pull in more supply to meet demand. This is certainly true, below is our house hold (5 bed...

Re: The future for ebikes?

I've been driving around in EVs since 2015, have to say am surprised to see a topic on hydrogen fuel cells on a bike forum, though it's a common topic in EV discussion :!: Hydrogen is absolutely pointless for personal transportation even in a car letalone a pedal bike. On a pedal bike I cannot see m...

Re: Boardman man 8.9E hybrid ordered.

I liked the advanced but strangely the chap (he looked over 25), in the bike hut convinced me the cost difference wasn't worth for my distance in commuting. I have to say I was a bit shocked by the weight of these eBikes, given the Trek is 8kg, when he told me the Boardman was the lightest eBike the...

Boardman man 8.9E hybrid ordered.

As the title suggests I've just ordered a Boardman Hybrid 8.9E bike after a good 1hr long test ride at Halfords. £2k is a huge amount of money to spend on a Halfords bike  But am hoping the Boardman is the kick up the backside I need to get back into cycling. I did the LEJOG on a borrowed Tre...
