Re: Shimano SPD,-SL cleat question...
It's not that I'm having trouble unclipping as such, just that I wondered if using blue cleats would make it easier, or 'slicker'?
I don't use SPD-SL so can't comment on that but Look is a very similar system and clipping in and out is no different what ever colour ...
Why should this square peg have to comply with your round hole desires? MM
There is nothing that says you should. However things are moving in a certain direction and if a person decides not to go in that direction then at some point they will be left behind. ...

Re: whether to lend a bike or not?

I always go by this when lending anything to anyone. If you bend, scratch or break it you have bought it. A few years ago I got that very message from my brother who asked me if I'd look after his Porsche 911 GT3 for 10 days whilst he went on holiday  Despite him asking me for the favour,me spen...

Re: Shimano SPD,-SL cleat question...

If the pedals are set to minimum tension and you're still having trouble unclipping then I doubt different float will make much difference.
Have you tried the standard SPDs with multi release?

Re: Shimano SPD,-SL cleat question...

Are your pedals adjustable?
I use Look Keo with Black(0 degrees float).I prefer the more rigid feel of zero float but I can adjust the pedals for clipping in/out.IIRC I have them set about 75% tension.
I've tried Red(9 deg) and Grey(4.5deg) but I didn't like the feel and movement.

In what way are you finding the float excessive?
Too hard/too easy to clip in/unclip?
Unclipping when riding?

Re: Go Outdoors

I use the local store quite frequently. They seem to have staff with knowledge of the specific area they work in and are very helpful. Be sad to lose them. I agree. That must depend on stores. I’ve only experience of Penrith over around the last 10 years. I’ve talked to staff who were enthusiastic ...

Re: When considering N+1

I don't buy off the peg so when I want an N+1 I decide what I want then start by buying a Frame-set.I then build it to my specifications over the coming months.I then get the exact N+1 I want and rather than saving for it I'm buying parts every month with the money I would have saved up.That way I s...

Well it's looking increasingly likely that Pubs will be able to open in the next couple of weeks. It had to happen.I'm not convinced the measures they are proposing will be well received or even enforceable. The App ordering works in Weatherspoons but how do they propose to have Apps functioning for a...

F22B7108-2EBB-4F9C-828C-13BC9801200F.jpeg Some decent brake pads for the Bianchi today. The fade on the OEM pads was not ideal on a fast descent, at the weekend, so these should ( hopefully) improve things somewhat. What are the OEM brakes/pads and where was the descent that caused the fade? I've g...

Re: "These headsets last forever"?

I wouldn't bash one in with a block of wood, but I wouldn't fit any kind of headset like that. That's exactly how I fitted a CK headset to my Specialized Enduro....did it in Edale carpark. I needed a new headset for the Enduro(2008) and my mate had one.We were meeting the next day in Edale to ride ...
