Re: Colnago C40 full Dura Ace 55cm

The relatively high cockpit and a triple would be perfect for me AND it is beautiful! I shall try and check out full measurements but I think just too big. Probably a good thing for my cash flow! GLWS.

Re: What cycling did you do this weekend?

Local ctc Saturday Easy Ride (only 1 I can manage these days). 37 dry if mostly grey and cool miles, to reach my usual 100 per week. Sunday, nil - spend with my non-cycling girl friend (sily term at our ages, but alternatives worse!).

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Still waiting for any facts that show the UK will benefit in any way by leaving the EU,leaves me in no doubt that half the country will believe any jaded bluster and lies without any facts to back up such trope, told to them by self seeking millionaires and billionaires, some of whom don't even live ...

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Facts ARE facts, that is their purpose. The mere insertion of inverted commas demonstrates an incapacity to understand that.

Re: ** The Brexit Thread ** - 'Brexit Means Brexit'

Photo ID for voting only the first step in "shaping" the electorate. Really need to raise age to say 40? Those not receiving any means tested benefits? The employed? And property owners only? Why should those who don't contribute have a say? Soon whittle down to the 150,00 white, upper mid...

Re: Request for help with PhD Research

No offence taken(by me at least!). And I do understand the reasoning behind the rigour of the target population. Excluding those with chronic health issues e.g. in my case COPD will skew the study to the under, say, 50s, but I'm sure that this will be taken into account.

Re: Pictures of your bike(s)

531CTC.jpg My slowly evolving "Simon Davey" bought on here. Very smooth ride (should be with XTR M900 hubs on D521s and skinny 531 All Terrain with LWB geometry) and XT Thumbies have long been my favourite shifters! Second most comfortable bike (of at least 100) that I've owned, even afte...

Re: New race bike....

Fast bike needs good stoppers! I have recently had light carbons with Tiagra, 105 and Ultegra calipers. While I am not all that fussy about drive train level, I definitely think Ultegra brakes a worthwhile investment!

Re: "Gusset" under downtube

"The lower end is not welded and there is a distinct gap between plate and downtube."

The original On One Inbreds all had the open end. As I recall, Brant used to say squirt a bit of WD40 up occasionally.

Re: Request for help with PhD Research

I would have contributed, BUT "Unfortunately, anyone with a chronic physical health condition, such as heart disease, is not eligible to participate." This seems a little odd to me. I do not suffer from depression, but I do get depressed by failing health (COPD most relevant in context of ...

Re: Is Trump Mad?

Can't see The Republican great and good going against the overwhelming party-grass-roots support which Trump retains. This seems about right to me: "Despite the increased public support for impeachment, there is very little chance that the Senate, which Republicans control 53-47, will reach the...

But.....make America great again is the will of the people. Or as we have it, make "Great Britain again", as the people voted.
