Re: Membership Rates - Alternatives

I agree with mjr - My original research was focused on identifying organisations which offered competing packages of services and insurance and did not focus on insurance per se. I was looking at organisations which provided a support package for cyclists that included all things among which are - ...

Re: Membership Rates - Alternatives

The context is membership rates, which you seem to be having some problem with, trying to turn it into another insurance discussion. The context is given by the OP I researched all competitor organisations and discovered those which competed directly with one another in the provision of services an...

Re: Membership Rates - Alternatives

Some interesting feedback on my original post with some new insight to consider. COMPENSATION - a consistent argument in favour of the CUK offer is suggested to be the insurance package and namely that if you choose to use the CUK lawyers Slater Gorden you will keep 100% of any compensation. This is...

Re: CUK STRATEGIC PERFORMANCE REVIEW

The biggest issue is simply the flat lining of CUK membership - that's just plain extraordinary if it's correct. It's pretty flat. CUK officers in another subforum were calling 70'000 members a new highest ever, then after it was pointed out CUK and CTC before it have been claiming that number for ...

Membership Rates - Alternatives

There is some significant dissent about the proposed change to membership and the consequential increase in membership fee. A large number of CUK members have expressed their intention/wish to discover alternatives to CUK especially ones which can provide insurance. Whilst researching the market env...

CUK STRATEGIC PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Recent announcements by CUK have prompted me to look hard and closer at how well CUK has performed as an organisation. The stats and evidence I discovered suggests a pitiful performance over the last 5-10 years with the organisation going backwards rather than forwards in terms o membership numbers....

Re: Membership changes suggest poor strategic management

MEMBERSHIP FIGURES AND GROWTH IN CYCLING support the assertion of poor strategic management CUK membership figures and CUKs ability to decide a plan consistent with market reality is central to this debate. My contention is that there is overwhelming evidence that CUK has not been able to strategica...

Re: Membership changes suggest poor strategic management

Some excellent points and observations made by members and sadly some poor use of statistics by CUK commentators. Behind my original post is the understanding that for the last 5,if not 10, years the market performance of CUK has been poor. Thus suggesting a management team either not fully in contro...

Re: Where's the evidence?

Excellent comment. I agree both with the sentiment and the detailed observations. This move seems to me the action of a management team which is not able to manage the CUK for membership growth and have opted instead for the easy out of growing revenue by putting up prices for existing members.

Membership changes suggest poor strategic management

I read with dismay the PR from CUK urging members to vote for a change in membership structure. In effect this is a change in fee structure for the purpose of increasing revenue. With a long term trend of falling membership numbers this had to come about as it is not possible to continue providing t...
