Re: Glueless Patches

I carry the PartTool 'stickers' and had just assumed these had taken over the 'old fashioned' boxes with glue, crayon, patches with orange bit around the edge. I've been using these for the past 10 years and have tubes with multiple punctures repaired by them in all condition and still going strong....

Re: Best route through London South to North

Thank you all for your useful suggestions. I was planning on crossing London after Brighton - London. I've now decided to ride as far as St Pancreas and take a rain to St Albans from there, which would cut out quite a bit of city riding. I'm not adverse to riding in the city, but I'll have had enou...

Re: Best route through London South to North

Given that your route is set, I think you need to tell us which bits to the south are non-negotiable. To the north it's presumably just St Albans. If we assume that you're doing Brighton to London as far as the usual start of that ride at Clapham Common, I'd use CycleStreets to get across the city ...

Best route through London South to North

I'm planning a cycle tour from my home in Exeter to Northampton next month. I'm going to follow NCN2 to Brighton, then do 'Brighton to London', and London to Northampton. My route is all set, but I would appreciate some advice on the nicest route through London, from south to north, between the M25....

Re: Sustrans Route 2 - south coast

I've only done the Devon part (I live in Exeter). It's a fantastic route, but to get enjoyment out of it you have to 1) be prepared for the hills - although great scenery at the top! and 2) be prepared not to rush as some of the route is on shared paths. It's easy to follow but I do use a gps to fol...

Re: Attaching Dynamo Charger to female SON Y junction on Edelux ii

I think what I’ll do is, should I measure and have enough ‘spare’, cut a section of the rear light wire (SON) which is coaxial and splice the thinner wore of the charger on to that, then connect the coaxial to the male. If you don't have enough spare, PM me and I'll stick a bit in the post, I have ...

Well this should be fun. I’ll post pictures etc once complete for others to marv...

Re: Attaching Dynamo Charger to female SON Y junction on Edelux ii

According to Peter White : The Co-Axial connectors are designed to fit Schmidt's Co-Axial wire. Other wire might work, but I won't comment on that. What I suggest is that if you are using a headlight or charger without Schmidt Co-Axial wire you should first splice the Co-Axial wire onto your wire b...

Attaching Dynamo Charger to female SON Y junction on Edelux ii

First post here so - hello! I have just purchased a bundle of dynamo gear to get me through winter without worry of charging lights. This is a SON set (SON28, Edelux ii + SON rear light). The Edelux ii is the new version with the coaxial junction box coming out of the light. You can see an image of ...
