i feel guilty actually having the 3 that i've had as felt like i was pressured into having them from media, work & the doctors i really wish i hadn't bothered now and feel bad for it if i could "turn back time" as cher would sing about.

my missus and her sister haven't had any jabs and ive had covid more times than the both of them together.
I'm very sorry to hear of your daughter's situation, I hope she is receiving the right care and that matters improve.

You say you felt pressured into having these injections, to what extent do you feel this affected your decision?
from a work scenario really basically private sector work on delicate stuff that makes the country light up on a night. we were pressured at the time to get them done all had to be enrolled to HR as well dates etc people who didn't have jabs were sort of victimised to a point were they had to stay at home longer than everybody who were vaxxed weekly tests for ages list goes on.

when i had my 3rd booster the nurse seemed very reluctant to jab me when i told her that i've had a previous DVT

Re: Giving up alcohol

i'm 48 and drank in all my adult years not a lot though in my late teens but got smashed more or less every weekend in my 20s & 30s now in my late 40s i'm what you call a binge drinker i work away a lot (10-12 day stints) so sometimes don't bother when i'm away as i'm either out on the bike or the gym on the nights so tend to stay off the booze but when i'm home on the weekend i'll have a skinful for most of the weekend my tolerance is very good.

i got a DVT a few year ago and stayed off the booze due out my treatment which lasted 7 months didn't bother me in the end my 1st day back drinking i had a good session and woke up for work the next day still rather refreshed

Re: Twenty a day for 2020?

initial target was 2021 miles which was just last years total of mixed bike riding Road & MTB, this year i've already hit 3200 hoping to hit 3500 at least hopefully 4000 but currently working away i do have my bike with me but change it every fortnight so i've had my Hardtail & Hybrid now i've got my gravel bike with me this fortnight only thing that is stopping me is the weather really as don't mind cycling in the dark

Re: Antisocial cyclists

i find it funny when i commute to work if i'm on my MTB and i get ignored by all the roadies but if i'm on my hybrid or my road bike i get the nod of approval but the funny thing is it's the same guys all the time, you would think that we ride the same commute so no matter what bike i'm on i should get the nod of approval

Re: Introductions - tell us about yourself

New Member here 46 yr old (well on monday i will be) from the North East smoggy land

Cycled on and off since the mid 90s mainly Mountain biked but in recent years after years of heavy weight training and doing odd duathlons here and there, i am spending a lot more time on the saddle again already done 2500 miles this year and hoping it carries on into the winter months.

Type of riding these days is whatever takes my fancy really as i own 5 bikes (hybrid, 2 Full suspension, hardtail, and a gravel bike) only recently bought the gravel bike i replaced a PlanetX Pro-Carbon road bike with the gravel bike and absolutely fell in love with it, i can road bike on it then fly off road so versatile :D

cheers
