I eat normally the night before. I have porridge - with raisins, cinnamon, a drizzle of golden syrup and a splash of skimmed milk - before anything over 10 miles. I do feel like it's an unmissable opportunity as the organisers are practically writing my training program .... and doing ...

Gosh, yes .... lots of trips, much more ambitious than mine .... but here goes. On Saturday, I went on the first post-white-out Cycling Club 11 mile ride, during which I found about a 35/65/100 miles 'figure-of-eight' taking place in June. Discovered that the first 22 mile training ride was the very...

the origin of the word berk is ah.... interesting. Yeah thats a good one, people use it without realising what it means. Indeed. Like my mother-in-law, who also uses 'bugger' very freely, considering it to be genteel profanity, and turns into a modern-day Queen Victoria when I try to tell her what ...

Well .... here in mid-Devon, most of my cycling takes places in beautiful surroundings. The most recent one was last week: I did 10 very, very, very hilly miles which included the road from Ashill up to Blackborough.

Breath-taking in all senses!
