Re: Touring overseas 2021

“I am thinking about an overseas tour in the winter of 2021......But I am hesitating to book as I am unsure about the effects of the virus on the trip. First and foremost rules and regulations regarding masks, covid tests etc and then more importantly I am very unsure about safety in countries I ha...

Re: Touring overseas 2021

Actually this whole forum is becoming a covid, Brexit, Boris this, Boris that soapbox with experts sat behind their keyboards.........Perhaps it is too much to ask for those of you that enjoy talking round in circles about politics to do that elsewhere....I quite agree with teamonster it would be re...

Re: Touring overseas 2021

The really great thing about this forum is the way threads just go their own way and have nothing to do cycling or the original question.....
Now where was I ?

Re: Touring overseas 2021

Yes I am thinking about beyond Europe in winter 2021...... The thoughts of being turned away from restaurants / hotels does not worry me too much but I did not have the experience of this happening to me in spring...Perhaps if it is common knowledge westerners have had the chance of the vaccine most...

Touring overseas 2021

I am thinking about an overseas tour in the winter of 2021 but am totally unsure what I will do. I know where I want to go and the prices of flights are great with good airlines and free exchange....But I am hesitating to book as I am unsure about the effects of the virus on the trip. First and fore...

Pull the other one it's got bells on!

Absolutely fine to disagree with me but I find your argument against what I said rather weak at the moment...

Re: Would you take a vaccine against CV? Vote now please!

The government are doing a great job with the vaccine...Name a country with a similar population that is doing better ...I can name a lot that are doing worse and some are in Europe. Israel and Bahrain are doing better but with their population and median age it is much easier for them. Two doses se...

Re: Would you take a vaccine against CV? Vote now please!

So much negativity to the government. Some facts .... We started vaccinating about one month before the rest of Europe...France managed 500 in a week once they started rolling it out, Italy at this moment in time expects a low take up of the vaccine which could be due to years of mistrust and corrup...

Re: Voile Straps

I use ROK straps for the top of my rear rack. They are excellent but just doing a price check they have nearly doubled in price in just three years. I can recommend them though..............I am trying to think of a use for the Voile straps which I have never seen before and to be honest I cannot th...

Re: Kensington & Chelsea Cycle Lane Removal - Controversy

And it is precisely because I am a cautious cyclist who doesn't want to come to a sticky end that I oppose the dangers that segregation (whatever euphemism is the current fad) inevitably causes. I think you need to pay a visit and cycle the countries with great bicycle lanes in Europe, then compare...

Kensington & Chelsea Cycle Lane Removal - Controversy

Interesting article here. Cycle U.K. really need to check the details and if they are correct make a whole of noise in the right places. Also you guys that live in the area get in touch with your councillors. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2021/jan/01/removed-london-bike-lane-blocked-by-parked-...

Re: Gopro / ipad advise

Agreed Africa is not as dangerous as some people think but having cycled there I would be wary of the drone. Some of the places I have been it could have been the difference between being identified as a terrorist, a government spy or indeed a simple tourist....That is having the drone in the bag as...

Re: EU VISAs after Brexit

EHIC or its new equivilant is an extra to insurance that everyone should have. Unlike insurance that will try and wriggle out of every claim the EHIC (lets call it that ) will cover you if you have had a drink of alcohol and whatever type of cycling you are doing. Regarding embassies it is so easy t...
