Right! It went really well and the staff were really friendly and knowledgeable. (Links are from Evans not Moores as they don't have bikes up on their site.) They didn't have the Raleigh Pioneer, but think I will call them tomorrow to ask if they stock it in either of their other branches to see if ...

Our cycle lane has really deep drain covers and grooves where the double yellow lines used to be, so impossible to cycle in anyway!

I just don't like cycling one-handed when trying to cross lanes and roundabouts. Shame, good idea.

Actually have googled it and people saying it's not waterproof which is a bit crap.

Wow! Do you take all that gear off your bike when you park it?

Also, by complete coincidence just asked a question about those indicators and see you have them! How are they?

Thanks everyone, I think what I will do is go along to our local bike shop (Moores in Teddington/Twickenham if anyone knows them?) see what they've got, and if they've got a good rrange in my price bracket I'll have a word and take him in on his birthday. I might give him a helmet or some lights to ...

Glad I asked as hadn't even noticed that

Yes, we do have an Evans nearby. The rack and mudguards are essential too!

Will check it out. They do free delivery too which is essential as we don't have a car so won't be able to get it back (I'm far to short to ride a 21inch frame!)

Thanks Julk and David!

What about this?

They had it in a 21" frame and it looks cool and we have an Evans nearby so if anything goes wrong I'll be able to take it back.

Stylish relfective clothing?

Is there any out there?

Obviously I don't want to be run over but I like to look good too! :D

It's for commuting, so ideally something that will go over my coat.

Can anyone recommend a bike for my husband max £250?

It's for riding on roads and in the local parks so I think I hybrid would be best. He is 6'2" so I need a big frame. Oh, and it's his 30th birthday on Saturday so I need to hurry up! Been toying with the idea of getting something secondhand, but as I really don't know enough and most offers I'v...
