E2E book

I thought this might be of interest. It will be a lyrical and thoughtful exploration of this particular adventure and the book should be out towards the back end of next year. My previous books were about hill climbs (super niche) and Alf Engers (a bit niche). https://traumradfahren.files.wordpress....

Re: When I flew with my bike this is what happened......

Flew sleazyjet Bristol to Barcelona.

Bike boxed and pipe lagged, bit of double walling. All good. Bike ready and waiting when I got there. Sadly not built up through.

Re: Mayenne River Cycle Path

Rode some of it today and it was generally ok. Be fine when it dries out.

The compacted bits were great. The rest was a bit gungy.

Re: One gear, 100 miles a day, across the continent

What book was that please? I really want to know how Granville Sydney and his successors warmed up before a hill climb! A Corinthian Endeavour. Central chapter is all about Granville Sydney. First edition sold out, new print run happening now, due out in two weeks or so. Bought and read it a white ...

I don't understand your question. I think you're being obtuse in an internet kind of way.

Re: One gear, 100 miles a day, across the continent

I ride fixed a lot, usually most winters, and it includes hills. I also wrote a book once about a certain breed of people who ride fast uphill on fixed. For longer tours it's doable, but it's certainly going to be less enjoyable, especially with this kind of mileage. It's really nice to be able free...

Re: Cycle routes St Malo to South France

I'm going the other way, from Girona to st malo. It's a diagonal. My stops are as follows, avoiding the Pyrenees because it's early march.

Barcelona - girona- perpignan- Carcassonne - Toulouse - Agen - perigeux - angouleme - Poitiers - angers -rennes - st malo.

Eric Wilson (Rossendale RC, national hill climb champion in late 50s) spoke about drum-ups when I interviewed him for a book on hill climbs.

That seems great. You could take in also some of the really out there stuff, ride over the Humber Bridge, for example.

Re: Girona - bike shop and hotel

Girona is stacked with bike stuff and home to dozens of continental pros. Try service course, or bike girona. But there are others. Not sure about a hotel, but the bus stop is near the centre of town and the neighbourhood is nice. Check out Federal Cafe, I think it's owned by Rory Sutherland (Orica ...

Disposing of bike box

specifically, is it ok to dispose of a gert big cardboard bike box and various bits of foam pipe cladding at a busy airport somewhere, without being arrested?
