Re: It's all in the name - Cyclists' TOURING club

Posts on thread suggest the rebrand may be the end of our heritage and the Winged Wheel - Cries of "you are abandoning our heritage". CTC sends a mailing demonstrating the continued use of our heritage and the Winged Wheel - Cries of "how dare you use our heritage". Damned if th...

Re: CTC CHANGE OF NAME

CTC is a lobbying group, in fact it is the earliest national cycling lobbying group. The name change won't alter that. The change of name is surely driven by a desire for an all-inclusive consticuency rather than an unique one. CTC is not as much of a lobbying group as it used to be. After all, you...

Re: CTC CHANGE OF NAME

Haven't you just hit on a key point there though. These people are elected to vote one behalf of the members. They have done this and gone for a new logo. To then request a full member vote seems to go against the original principle of having elected representatives... They're not "elected to ...

Re: CTC CHANGE OF NAME

Although some of the worst abusive comments were sent to me as unsolicited email circulars I don't intend to breach the confidence of private communications. But you can find other examples such as: "It is our opinion the entire decision-making process was flawed and any dissent was either ign...

Re: CTC CHANGE OF NAME

The "personal comments" are just responding to a personal attack made by an individual - which seems perfectly reasonable I'm glad you see it as perfectly reasonable that the CEO should finally respond with some personal comments to a string of attacks on him by Philip on Facebook, this f...

Re: CTC CHANGE OF NAME

OK, folks, please can we avoid the personal comments? By all means discuss the pros and cons of the new name and branding (which we haven't yet seen, other than a basic logo), but don't turn this into a name-calling session. Otherwise I might have to protect my legal position as website host by let...

Re: CTC CHANGE OF NAME

You probably won't be surprised to know that I think it needed to be said. I am not sure what happened with Philip but something did because he went from being a Councillor supportive of what was happening - as the records Gaz dug out show - until he failed to get re-elected and now seems on a camp...

Im assuming you are talking about this? https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/change-branding-name-ctc-cycling-uk-demand-poll-whole-philip-benstead At which point it is David Cox who wrote this, not Paul Tuohy No. I'm talking about this comment from Paul Tuohy: Philip is very committed to cycling but some...

Now, who was it that was warning at the time of the charity debate that this was likely to happen?

Who was categorically told this would never happen and they were just scaremongering?

Re: No more CTC technical officer ** NO HOAX **

It is almost seemed that our club has been stolen from us. I don't know if it was a deliberate policy right from the start, but I feel hoodwinked and I don't like it one bit. AIUI the CTC consulted its membership about what they wanted from it and is now following the wishes and priorities of its m...
