Man cycles the Americas
Good morning all, Did anyone watch the programme last night on the BBC about the man who cycled across the Americas. It was part 1 of 3 I believe and he travelled from ALaska to the Rockys. It looked a great adventure with bears and forest fires to contend with and a serious lack of water. (not what...

Re: FLYING WITH BIKES

Re: how do you remove look pedals?!?
they are off!
thank you all for your advice. In the end copious amounts of WD40 and tap tap tap tapping with the hammer made it budge.
SPD shoes are immensly more comfortable when out and about than road bike cleats
thanks all

Re: FLYING WITH BIKES
I took mine on flybe and it was excellent. the flight was booked last minute (the day before at the airport) we then went and found 2 huge plastic sheets and some carboard boxes, purchased some gaffer tape from carrfour and bodged a "bike carrier" together. no issues at all, we watched the...

Re: how do you remove look pedals?!?
all good suggestions thank you I resorted to putting on my fingerless cycling gloves and one has come off but the other is stuck fast :? I am hoping the generous amounts of WD40 and bike lying on its side overnight will make it possible in the morning. AS for removign a few times a year - this is th...

how do you remove look pedals?!?
I have moved from road bike cleats to SPDs.......... at least I was until I attempted to remove the "look" pedals. As far as i can see you put in the alan key and turn with all your might but they will not budge! there is no nice flat bit to get a spanner onto as per the new shimano SPDs t...

what should be done and when?
Good afternoon all, I am after your advice please - I have had my bike for about 18 months now and done about 2500 miles. I know that I need to replace the tyres as they are seriously thin and bald in some places - however I was wondering what sort of maintenance/replacement should be done and when?...

when cycling through france pick up the river vienne trail (from Paris aim just south of Tours). I did this when i did my top to bottom, its so easy to cycle along, tarmac the majority of the way and flat as a pancake. Add into that the stunning views, lovely towns and ample campsites and you should...

Eastenders followed by another soap. amazing how far you can go in an hour when that tosh is on the box! I love to ride to work. I don't find that it is a hassle or a huge effort, more a special part of the day that i get to myself to think about things and enjoy the views, nature and the changing s...

dieppe to Bergerac
Bit of a random one, just come back from a 2 week 600miler (proabably about 300 miles if you go straight!) in France from Dieppe to Bergerac (it's amazing where you end up when you plan nothing!). Had a fantastic time in a leaky tent and at least 3 boulangeries a day! If anyone wants any help/info (...
